I was working at Honda Of Norfolk in 84 when we got the first CR500 in the area. The boss told me to put it together and try it out and I gotta tell ya, I was used to those 250s and knew it was gonna be bad ass because the 250's were..! I was not ready for all that power..! I found out that you CANNOT ride it on dry pavement it has to be on dirt or the bike will be riding you very quickly.! I have to tell you that what you guys have done is nothing short of fantastic and I would get one in a heart beat if I was still riding bikes...! Good luck...!!!
All the crappy electronics on modern bikes is ridiculous..I'll stick with my trusty 2-strokes till the Lord calls me home..great video as always kaptain America!!

@@jaysmokey Funny you say that, I just ordered the STIC, STIC JD Jetting Kit, and air-screw...so excited to feel the difference in power! Its going with a 2019 TM Racing EN300ES with pro circuit expansion chamber and silencer, Moto Tassanari V Force 3 Reeds with a SAM Reed Extender, a VHM Head and insert. It already has a Pro X piston, going to get it ported @ Pro Circuit or MRE soon. I have a SAM Billet Supercooler kit, and TM Racings radiator fan kir. I need to go to the dealer and upload some new ignition maps that TM Racing has released for their customers, as well. I can't think of much more I could do, and I bet it is going to rip my frigging hands off the first day all of these are applied!!! haha Now the chassis and suspension needs some upgrades, and this will be the more expensive part...can't wait to feel the STIC with all of the mods!!! Freaking stoked dude!!

Honda couldn’t replicate this CR500 well above the Honda factory standards this is a custom built 500 hasn’t got much in common with the 500s of yesteryear a truely inspirational piece of machinery it’s safe to say the future of two strokes is here 💪💪💪 also keep up the great work coming out of the KAPLAN AMERICA CAMP

Great bike. Beautiful bike. Workmanship, top notch. The only thing that has me scratching my head is the rear sprocket (better ones out there) and the bar pad strap on the front number plate. Why not fab it off of there? Or, possible to supply a version without the strap and a version with a strap for those who want to use bars with a cross-bar setup?
the bike is BRAND NEW MADE OF 100% NEW PARTS. the sprocket and number plate are brand new 2021 honda original parts, why change them unless you want more bling then do it.
I dont know how your KX500AF is set up, but given enough room, it will start to walk away from the CR on top.. But the CRs low and mid are what you need to win motos. 😁 Giving my KX some attention now that my CR is down for routine maintenance.
The only way you can have a 4 stroke that you can depend on is to do as a friend did. His local Honda shop made my friend a deal to trade it every year his new CRF450..he rode it only at Casey Lincoln Trail Motocross park in the 40+ class..so the bike never got any woods trail abuse and was always shiny for a good looking trade in and ready for a used resale .this was about 20 years age as was trading once per year for around $2000 bucks per year ..
Very clean CR500 if Honda would make these they would sell every single one of them

Back in ‘75 my CR250 took me to the Arizona championship. Rear shocks were moved 5” on top and 4” on the bottom - smooth. Best bike ever!
Just look how slim and fast she looks, so easy to slide up front and get the nose down in the bends, truly a fantastic piece of engineering.

Huge fan!!! There is a reason the big bore 2 strokes are so loved, they are light, easy to live with and have a fun-factor that can't be beat.
And reliable, a good Honda cr500 will just keep on chugging for decade's if you look after her with fresh gear oil and good spark
The 1986 cr to me was the best cr but that cr is something else that is just class
