Hopefully season 2 continues. Theres so much in Oda's creation that can be put out to wider audience through this live actions series.
The series goes off the rails after east blue. It's tough, like really really tough to adapt alabasta into 8 eposodes with the budget they have, then there's also chopper. Let's see how they handle it. I'm hopeful though.

Well they didnt go full on with arlong and usopp's nose is not long like in the manga. So there will be some changes for chopper also. My concern would be for brook 😅
There's talks about season two going to get started once the strike is over, those who worked on the series says a script is already completed
The way you two were smiling, crying & laughing, throughout this show is exactly why I love One Piece live action. Some fans of the anime still rejected this despite the critical acclaim and how many new fans the show has pulled in.
The showrunners really knows what they're doing, and with the guidance & blessings of Eiichiro Oda. They truly have created something special here. I'm sure they have even more epic stories for us in season 2. And yes, the scripts for season 2 has been finished according to the producers!
Some things I really hate about fans in general are the gate keepers and lack of flexibility to accept adaptations. I don’t know why they don’t know they are doing more harm than good.
The live action wasn't perfect we fans know it but we still love it because it made us relive onepiece once again even if there were some miss here and there. And some fans who hate on this live action just because it isn't perfect replication of anime or saying anime is better is just dumb, of course anime is better but i don't see why as a fan u would hate the live action. You should love and appreciate that our favourite anime is getting more recognition and appreciation, i am sure the people who said they won't watch onepiece because it's too long are able to appreciate it with this live action!!! They are just fake fans.

I always see fans of One Piece as dreamers and adventurers at heart. Most new gen anime nowadays are so laser focused on darkness, anger and fights. One Piece is that shinning light that pulls your heart strings and always makes you smile and laugh.

One piece also have depressing and dark episodes after the initial setup.
Oda was already fed up with Angry protagonists, he made this one filled with fun.

iirc thats exactly what the author Eiichiro Oda entire reason for making one piece story, because the people of japan dont want to chase their dreams anymore and Oda wants to change/remind them of that throughout his story
I love that Achara basically cried every episode since ep 5. Jaby was close to tearing up too but the tears never left his eyes. Just goes to show how good they adapted the crew's backstory. And WITHOUT FILLERS to boot! I'm a happy fanboy right now.

@@SalilRawatSaxena They cried in ep 2 but didn’t cry in ep 3&4 so the crying streak was stopped. But from 5 onwards they cried all the way to the end. I hope the S2e1 makes them cry again and keep the streak going 😂
They know how to end the season, they didn't end it with a great fight scene, or a cliffhanger, they end it with the crew reaffirming their dreams which is the main theme of the show.

He rarely ever throws punches or use his hands to directly harm anyone. Zeff taught him to fight using kicks, and Sanji personally believes that a chef’s hands aren’t meant to harm, but cook.
he has never used his bare hands btw. He used knives once against an annoying enemy though

The power scale of mihawk and graps (grandpa) shows how far they have to develop and get stronger. It demonstrates the power level people they will meet in the future will have in grand line
So much room that even after a 1000 episodes Mihawk is still way stronger than Zoro.
Mihawk is still easily in top 5 strongest in the verse
what I love is we can also see how casual they are in their fights too. like these are top tier fighters but we're not even seeing them TRY and it's already shocking.
Oda said that there will absolutely be no romance between the crew because that’s how it is in the anime because they are just good friends to each other
oda said no to any romance period in his story he views it as something chaining and he wants his characters to embody freedom from anything that society chains us with .
Shonen shows don't really do romance in general since they're primarily aimed at 12-year old boys. Timeskips are the exception like in DBZ and Naruto haha
I think thats not what happen. One of Oda's rule if he's gonna green lit the live action series is that theres will never be romance between the crew.. thats what steven maeda said he's the show runner of the show

Outside of the obvious of married couples, there was the whole Sanji whole cake arc, whatevers happening with Hancock, and it was cute the thought of Gol D Roger and Portgas D Rouge and the tragedy that cumulated with their son Ace.
@TheCandyGamingChannel even the romance for most side characters is not ur typical romance like in the case of luffy and boa its a gig for comedic relief, and in cases where there is actual romance oda refrences it slightly without diving too deep. he himself said that he don't want to write romance.
Season 2 will definitely have Logue Town and I hope Alabasta gets at least 4 episodes.🙏
I am so ready for Crocodile's final beatdown by Luffy. One of my favourite moments when I was a kid. Also Im a bit worried about Alabasta since its a pretty violent arc, and this is clearly PG-13.

Death note live action adaptation movie or whatever it was supped to be was the sh*tiest thing I've ever noticed, not watched beause i couldn't even bear my sisters watching that nonsens the cast was the most horrible ever possible, the actors were mediocre like they didn't even understood the characters they were supposed to be, L is iconic charcetrr but they changed his ethnicity and weird mannerism and coolness, they turned the main character into a random high schooler it was a literaly an American campus flop movie this thing made me so angry 😂

I'm glad you guys enjoy it. One piece really inspire me to keep going in my life. It is one of the reason I am still alive right now. Witnessing the live action of this and receiving lots of positive reviews makes me happy.
I love how there are creative changes to the story. Which makes it consistent with so much stuff that are mentioned 800+ episodes later.

The sad thing is the season ended. The good thing is this is just the beginning of One Piece. The story and emotional journey is just 1% of where it goes. It keeps getting better and better with every arc.
If you recall, Grandpa threw a cannon ball towards the ship with his bare hands. So you understand how much raw power he possess. And you can imagine what can happen if he trains Koby and Helmepo.
A hint: this is not the entire crew.
The creator has made it clear the story will not tend towards romantic tones.
The fight between Luffy and Arlong is long (no pun intended) in the anime. And not just Luffy, Sanji and Zoro as well. The idea shown in the anime is that Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji gets stronger with each fight and with emotions like protecting his friends or fighting for his friends. This is somewhat shown here as you see earlier Luffy, Sanji were having a hard time in Round 1. But later Luffy manages to break the sword with hi bare hands and also damage/defeat Arlong.
You should watch the anime if you want to really get what One Piece story is all about. You can say the live action is like the movie trailer while the anime is the actual movie. But fair warning, there can be times when it gets slow or filler in the anime. Like others are suggesting, it would be best only to watch until this arc which is episodes 1 to 44 in the anime so you don't find it intimidating or get spoiled if there is going to be Season 2. Even an episode a week and you'll get there with ease.
Specifically it was a condition of doing the show in the first place that there were to be no romanced among the crew.

I'd recommend the manga instead. That's where the canon is at. The anime is also an adaptation of the source material (the manga) and it's not allways adapting it faithfully.
Nami's tattoo is a pin wheel with tangerine. Pin wheel had a greater significance in the anime. Especially Genzo(scar guy). He and Nami had a special bond. The pin wheel on his hat is the one she gave him.
This is how you do diversity casting. You cast talented people that are perfect for the role, and not mention anything about their race or sexuality. Like, if I didn't look it up, I wouldn't have know that there was a trans actor in the cast. Great job, Netflix.

Garp is like a secret boss for a game.😅. The sequence about declaring their dreams with flashbacks of their young selves is a nice touch! Damn, this is an awesome show. This coming from someone who grew up with One Piece. This is just a tip of the iceburg. For me this is one of the greatest story ever told in any medium.

A considerable problem for the Arlong battle is that in the original material much of Arlong's fighting moves are hard to replicate in live action: biting Luffy, having his teeth punched out and regrowing (which we saw) while those would be an actual threat which just doesn't work in live action. Luffy also ended up drowned for a while in the original battle, but hey, that's an aspect of devil fruit physiology they already covered with Buggy, most likely so they could skip it here. The only thing I think that could really have been improved (other than slightly more believable CGI on the building destruction aspects) would be a couple of exchanges where Luffy actually dodges Kiribachi (Arlong's distinctive tooth-shaped sword) prior to destroying it himself. It would have made the fight feel a bit more lively to me.

My theory is that he'll spend most of his time in his most human form via practical makeup and only do the half-half CGI for specifically cutesy moments

Regarding the ending discussion, I think two factors were major reasons of the shows success. First is that they actually listened to the creator of the show unlike the previous adaptations and second is the fact that in an interview the director said that he learned from the mistakes of the people before him which led to the first reason. Now hopefully other directors follow matt in regards to future adaptations as well.
Edit: oda also shut down all their requests to add romance in the crew which is good since it stays faithful to the story. As they mentioned all crew chemistry was unintended, but I think that's what make this cast great, their chemistry with each other. Hopefully this statement stops twitter from shipping or asking netflix to make luffy LGBTQ shich is not part of odas story.
My dude literally NOTHING can stop twitter from shipping - if there is a will, there is a way - that's the online shipping mentality (which is completely fine, since it isn't being cannonized in the Netflix Live Action Adaptation).
Understand wanting to keep romance drama out of the story but would be pretty sad that the characters are on a path to die alone with no families.
@@Utracia1 I think romance can be added if it's added in the source material, if it's not in the source material then do not add it. Some people wanted a nami and zoro romance because of emily and mackenyu's chemistry, some people even want luffy to be lgbtq. Oda said no, and I agree, stick with the source material, only change things that make sense for the live action that do not change the whole vibe of the story. We already know what will happen when production teams listen to people who aren't even fans of the work. If you mean what Oda said in regards to the story of the manga then I do believe he'll add romance as a foot note in the ending, but he'll keep everything no romance as he promised as it is not integral to the story.
Just my two cents, but I find it rather ironic that by adamantly keeping Luffy out of all romance seems to give him asexual/aromantic traits anyway.

What you can expect from One Piece is that the characters and ending scene. After 1000+ episodes and chapters, it never fail. You will find something new in each straw hats members, Side characters is amazing even the weird looking one. Hopefully there's S2

From what I understand, Taz Skylar wanted to do as much of the kicks as possible so went on a mad dash course is martial arts, and he plans to keep at it waiting for season 2. Expect his fights to get better

The script for season 2 is already written and it's ready. But they still need to film, season 2 is most likely gonna air after 12 to 18 months. Once the strikes ends, they will start filming

Season 2 has the real challenge for Netflix.

Disney was able to pull it of with Rocket Racoon in Gaurdians of the Galaxy.
Now you can watch the anime up to episode 47 (which is what the live action covers) until season 2 gets confirmed/released! There are a lot of differences without changing the overall story.
The East blue saga described in this show well showed why the first episode name is romance dawn! Whole story is the starting of the journey following their dreams of the crews. It was really great to follow this show with you guys, thanks!
Anime has 10 times more emotional touch to it
It is both fortunate and unfortunate that they ended it here. Fortunate because it is a good enough stopping point. Unfortunate because they had initially planned to visit one more location. I won't spoil the plot, but let's just say the season could potentially have gone full circle, since the last stop in the East Blue is Loguetown: the place where Gold Roger got executed. I feel bad for the showrunners they couldn't make it happen, because they had to already make the set for the opening of the show and had they been able to combine shooting that one more episode, they probably would have been able to reduce the per-episode price tag a little bit.

Brings a tear to my eye, not only the episode itself, but seeing this beautiful story brought into the mainstream through this live action, and to see reactions of it on so many channels from people who have never given it the time of day before... Especially big channels like this.
I honestly don't think I'm exaggerating here... If this show makes it to its 3rd season (Skypiea arc) and they manage to pull it off, it will change cinema. No one is ready for it. There's nothing else like it. While it's a bit slow in the anime, and shows its age, if they trim the fat off that arc for the live action... I have no words for how amazing it will be
Mihawk, Shanks and Garp are one of the most powerful people/characters in one piece and the things that we saw in the live action are just a small fraction of their powers
The only change that doesn't make sense in the live action is Nami going to Arlong by her own will in the anime he literaly abducted her after seeing the maps she draw and seeing how good a navigator she is😂
Everyone in Coco knew about Nami too. They just didn't let her know. It was a very important part

@@anshmittal3098 issue is rushing without considering the impact. Coco villagers knew about Nami's sacrifice but never let her know till end. That was a huge plot point. They deleted it without understanding the story. It is not even about budget, it is about sense of the story. If Oda wasn't so involved, it would be another trash like usual
They already tried hard by race seapping at random places and toning down anything that goes against their usual agendas. I can guarantee they would delete the scenes of "Kuina admitting she will lose to a guy" or "Nami asking help to Luffy, a guy" for sure if they had full control
Just wait and see if Alvida's Devil Fruit powers are retained in future or not. That itself will tell u how much they are faithful and how much they are still worrying about pushing their agendas. Just be happy this wasn't made by Disney 🤣🤣🤣

There is also a plothole in Usopp story where Luffy woke up from food coma and suddenly said he needs to save all yet he had no idea since he was knocked out before anything started. No one even questioned it 😅

The casting director mentioned that there were a whole lot of people auditioning who said "You have no idea what this means to me". That's the kind of fanbase One Piece has, it is life altering, it'll change your principles and make you an emotional person. This also shows how the fanboys pour their hearts out to create this beautiful live action! No wonder One Piece is an even bigger franchise than Harry Potter and Lord of The Rings😊

Btw... Just a heads up. The strawhats are like a family, almost siblings. So, just have that perspective going into it in the future.

More like season 3 or 4. We have got almost 4 big arcs to reach Marineford.

Hopefully, after all, Haki wasn't really introduced properly up until the Marineford arc; it was just a mysterious power at that time, but I hope they change it up after all; we are to be introduced with two Logia users (3 if they add Skypiea, which isn't going to happen considering the length of the Alabasta arc) if they ever go with it in season 2. Well, we also get Drum Island and a story with Laboon; I wonder how that will fit along with Louge town.

I think what really made this an amazing adaption is that Eiichiro Oda was there working with them and telling them yes and no. He personally approved the actors who played all the main characters. The writers say that season 2 is written and we should hopefully see it 12-18 months after the strike ends, so fingers crossed. I am so happy you two enjoyed this journey with us fans.
