  • Nina Sengupta presents her beautiful coloring bookbook, Edible Weeds and naturally growing plants, which is a gateway for Adults and Children to rediscover their intimate relationship with Mother Nature both in their diets and in life in general.
This book is so important for learning about plants in our bio region, it should be in schools across India.
This is a way we can change the narative of local food within the context of education.
If every child had this book we could have classes about local edible weeds with science, art, cooking even economics!
We are trying to raise the funds to print the next edition PLEASE HELP ...there are 22 copies left, if you want one contact :

Thanks for sharing the knowledge. It will help a lot if the plant names are subtitled. Couldn't hear parts of the conversation because of the cameraman's sniffing and trampling on the dry leaves.

Amazing video. Great information. Too good. We have food growing every where. The question of whether we have food scarcity anywhere in the world is absolutely wrong, unless you want to eat only A type of food

Much needed video. Really appreciate if you could do more video about what kind of sunlight requirement and also weather it’s a Bush or ground cover in those lines. Also I have a request, Can you post some videos how you grow your ladies finger/tomato/ potato plants. You were telling that sweet potato is a great ground cover, how do you harvest. I feel I might harm the roots of other plants existing there. Can you guide us through 😊

Asystasia Gangetica is commonly called Chinese violet I believe. I found it growing in my garden but haven’t tried eating it yet. My fear is do these weeds have look alikes that are poisonous? How can we be sure we have the right plant? Currently we eat Centella Asiatica . We have 2 varieties growing in our garden which I have no problems identifying.

Commelina Diffusa, a related plant, grows heavily in rainy years, and the seeds are like a tiny nut that the mice like to eat. In rainy years the cats are very busy catching lots of mice.
