Worx ZipSnip Cutting Tool Vs Bosch/Skil: Which is Better?

  • In this video we review the Worx WX081L Cutting tool, comparing it to my old Skil Cordless Cutting Tool, manufactured by Bosch. We put both cutters to the challenge, using them as a cardboard cutter, and through other materials, papers, plastic packaging, carpeting and many other construction materials. The Skil cordless cutter is no longer made, but it was one of the best tools around, making the perfect cardboard slicer. Please forgive the performance of my skil cutting tool, after 5 years of abuse and drops and bags, it's a bit out of alignment, and ready to be put out to pasture.

I think it's not fair to compare your old and new tools Jeff... If you're going to ask me what I would buy? I'll buy the Skil since it's straight forward on their product specially on this snips. SKIL has a USB charger and it's also convertible unlike WORX.

Looks like a great tool, For me, I fold all of my boxes and use no power. It's so easy, just cut along any tape that's holding the box together.............and fold. Saves a LOT of time and energy and battery power. Unless you deliberately have to get the box into small pieces in a very small recycling bin, can't see any reason to cut it into such small pieces unless that's purely for demo purposes.
