- ★ In this video I will be covering the new best Pokemon to power up in Pokemon GO in 2021! There have been a lot of changes this past year and it was about time to update this guide :)
This list of Pokemon mainly focuses on gym/raid attackers, along with some other useful candidates. PvP and Shadow Pokemon were not included in this video (with the exception of some Master League Pokemon), but Mega Pokemon were included.
I will be updating my Budget list video in the near future, along with creating a video for the most useful Shadow Pokemon in game currently. I hope you all find this video helpful and informative as you start building out your new line ups for the 2021 raid/gym meta!

Awesome video! During Kanto Tour, Mewtwo and the birds will have their exclusive moves. That would be a good time to raid it for a good IV with sky attack.

I wish I could, but I'm not the most well versed in terms of GBL, especially with the meta constantly changing and XL Pokemon being added into the mix.
I might make a video that could somewhat answer your question though, at least in a more general direction in terms of what I normally do.

This is probably the first time I've ever heard appraisal for Melmetal. Most of the time it's only mentioned for PvP but it's my main pokemon for rocket battles too and being one of the better pokemon to defend gyms as well is a nice bonus for usage. The only downfall is raiding but using all electric moves for raiding isn't the worst (but definitely recommend getting better electric pokemon). Most importantly is how easy it is to obtain one so it should be a must have as it'll never go away and earning candy is fast and consistent.
Yeah, it is definitely underrated! I absolutely love using it for rocket battles, such good coverage

Just a sincere question; how is Melmetal easily obtainable?
I’ve only been playing sporadically since 2016 and haven’t even gotten my first Meltan yet (still have not finished that quest). And then I’ll just have 1 Meltan and not nearly enough candy to evolve into a Melmetal.
@@SuAva you can transfer any Pokemon into Pokemon Home and you'll receive a mystery box that is basically an incense where only Meltan spawn. Just make sure you make a Pokemon Home account, in Pokemon Go link your home account which you can find in settings and that's also where you will transfer pokemon. After a 3 day cool down you can transfer another pokemon and receive another mystery box
@@SuAva ik im super late and you maybe already know but if you transfer a pokemon to pokemon home you get a mystery box(meltan only incense) and after 3 days if you transfer another pokemon to pokemon go you Can use it again
This video is yet another reminder to me of how gamefreak did Dragonite dirty by not giving it a mega or some kind of new form.
Yeah, all the psuedo legends from gen 2-4 have a mega of their own, while Dragonite doesn't

Gallade with Confusion and Leaf Blade , Leaf blade comes out after 3 fast moves and has gotten me now through 2 Giovanni's and all 3 Rocket Bosses with Gallade as my first out .

Currently for Garchomp, the community day move Earth Power outclassed Earthquake on Garchomp. I hope this is helpful! Edit: If you do not have Darkrai, a good alternative that is better in certain situations is Yveltal with Snarl and Dark Pulse. I still hope it is helpful.

no electivire? also, for pve, dark and ghost are effectively the same, that's why darkrai's best moveset has one dark one ghost. I also really think ttar deserves a spot, although at least you mentioned him

tbh i think all of those in this list are the best mons for best buddy. maybe also some other pvp mons to get closer to the max cp of each cup you play in.

Don't use candies on the karp. It it more beneficial to use it on a pokemon that takes 20 km to walk

In terms of DPS, Rampardos reigns king. But if you’re making a list based on Gyms and Raids, Rampardos is just a glass cannon version of Rhyperior. I have Hundo maxed Rampy, and I’m STILL taking my team of 6 maxed RW Rhyperior any day of the week.

Darmanitan has Incinerate as a fast move which provides the highest DPS. I would recommend that over Fire Fang.

I am so damn mad I found a wild Swampert at CP 1980 and couldn't catch it in 4 tries! I've been playing the game a week and made Great throws throughout the day only to have garbage aim when going up against that one! huhuhu - i did get a 3 star wild Snorlax on the same 1980 CP lvl but it wouldve been epic to end the night with that swampert catch :(

Electivire is actually on par with Raikou. Technically he's got a tiny bit more DPS, but Raikou has the edge on TDO.
Electivire is not on this list for a reason, it's not worth investing dust into a normal one (wait for the Shadow list)

He is great as none shadow Pokemon too, and I think i have encountered 4 shadows in 1936 rocket battles. So seems pretty rare. For me at least. May differ for others i suppose.

I know non-shadow Electivire is still a good choice, but at this current point in time, it just doesn't make sense to drop more dust into a regular one, when there are better options out there. I’ve just started playing because of my son so we created 2 accounts.
What’s the best way to decide what Pokémon to keep and later upgrade? I seem to be getting a lot of the same around where I live and my items got full very quickly and what items are best to drop as I need more pokeballs.
Any tips for a noob would be awesome any of the very basics probably would be of great help.
