      Baramaat she has said before gel she used to go home and fix her nails every night. Gel was/is a game changer, before gel I wouldn’t even bother with how hard I am on my hands. I imagine she has days she touches a couple up , with gel it’s so
      Easy and fast ;)

    Suzie, after battling a very serious illness I was left unable to return to my labour intensive job. I have been out of work for a few years now and I hate it, but I'm not qualified for anything else, I started at my last job when I was 14. Anyway I love watching your videos, so Maybe the sound of your voice got stuck in the back of my head or something because I've finally figured out a way to get back to work in a way that will be practical, enjoyable (I have already practiced a lot on myself and friends, I used to do it for fun and I got pretty good!) and achievable. I found a great school and I'm going to study nail technology in 2020 😁 you cannot know how much your videos inspire and teach me and I'm so, so grateful for your content. My children and I will have better lives once I am working again and I can't shake the feeling you have something to do with that. Thank you, truly.
    Sincerely all the way from Australia

    I think a lot of people don’t realize that the extreme curve makes the nail extension less strong. I notice that a lot of long acrylic nails with the deep curve break right at the stress point.

    I went to high school with a girl that her natural nail grew straight down at the end of her fingers so she had L shaped nails. This was in a time before acrylic nails. (I'm almost 63) I've often thought how odd and why. My daughter's toe nails when she was born would end up embedded into the front of her toes by growing down into the end of the toe. I would pull them up and keep them short. She's had problems with ingrown toe nails but they no longer grow out that way. My grandmother had a split nail from an injury at work and when acrylics came out she had that finger done and it eventually grew out without the split and fixed it. She had very strong nails and could grow hers without problems other than the split getting caught on things and breaking. I learn so much watching your channel. My nails don't like to keep polish on, it floats off while doing dishes sometimes whole. They bend and break. I've worn acrylics before and used to do my own. Might do them again sometime, I'm liking the coffin and almond shapes.

      If your nail polish eeps floating off, try dehydrating the nail with acetone before painting them, and probably a new base coat and/or top coat

      @daphneraven9439 Před 4 lety +2

      Hiya, Kayla Grech!
      Each client should leave the salon with exactly the look that she wants, or one step closer to her "goal look" (there are a few conditions that need to be worked with over the course of a few appointments). Every time. If I may offer a suggestion, here it is :
      The next time u call to make an appointment with your favourite nail tech, let her know that you would like to change the style/shape of enhancement from your usual style (especially if your regular fill is usually a very quick, "flying" visit). That way, if she needs to allow a little extra time for re-shaping/re-styling &/or discussion, she can build that time increase into your next appointment so that she's not having to rush to cram a bigger job into the short time allotted for a quick fill. It'll be a better & more relaxing all-around experience for both of you. :)
      It might also be an idea to bring pix of the shape or style of nail that you have in mind, for clarity, preferably of:
      1. the side profile of the nail, showing your preferred placement, shape, and apex of the arch along the nail bed/enhancement,
      2. one taken of the overall nail so that she can see the shape from the top, and
      3. one taken from the tip of the finger to see the thickness profile of the nail and your preferred shaping of the tip and sides of the nail, too. :)
      I hope this helps!
      -- an old nail tech.

      Yes, I was not happy that that inch-thick pinky nail wasn't really addressed, too. It's obvious that it had to be thinned out from underneath, and be hollowed out so it looks like a fingernail and not a spike. And yes, it would have been easier to just cut it off and sculpt a new nail.
