I really hope this becomes real, in all the game maps and character skins, you can be sure it will attract new players and old players like me would return to the game
I'm starting to guess that turtle team want to rebuild Vanilla on a new Engine, so they will have more features and tools for developing of new content. If that's the plan, then as Asmongold said about possible Vanilla Plus from Blizz: "You must go balls to the wall", and take all what is good about Vanilla and Retail, dropping everything that sucks, without fear or regret.
@@gaburierusan8179 same..it will simply be the best game in the world..classic wow..with mythic+ dng of all the expansions (as many as possible) and all the raids and the zones that they can fit ( and make their loot viable not like stupid retail where every expansion is actually taking away from the game more than it gives)
@@Anudorini-Talah If it's anything like Ascension they have an option to choose either the older graphics or the newer graphics so should be an option to choose your preference or at least I would hope so. Just something about the OG graphics that I love
@@rb-uu7du If it's shown on the screen, RTX Remix can do it. It's basically DXVK with a modified popeline so you can change whatever you want along the way. You can replace textures, update models, add animations, add lights, etc.

I'd love for the Classic world of Warcraft to be larger, with more lore stuff sprinkled about with RP spots/locations. Possibly more race/faction specific classes, though that is a pipedream. Praying for the future!
my guess is this will just be an optional patch/injector combo to update shaders and lighting. If it's using ray tracing (it looks like it is) older computers will be unable to use it anyways

@highelf6086 soo... it won't be as taxing I'm assuming? I love the game. I just don't have the type of cash to drop on a desktop or anything. That's why I started playing it in the first place.. It just sort of upset me to think I might not be able to continue on the server anymore. Would break my heart really..

This makes me think. Why haven't talented private server creators like Turtle and Ascension just team to and make their own MMO? I know it's wishful thinking but Turtle clearly has decent writers and the knowledge to design zones and such while Ascension has proven to be very good with implementing new systems along with polished UI and graphics. Conquest of Azeroth showed that they can create interesting and varied classes given the right amount of time. I know their expertise are in the WoW engine but given time and practice I think we'd have a winner. I say this out of love and respect for both server teams. I've played on and fallen in love with both offerings.

Would you ever consider adding options for transmog such as "enable transmog" for people that want to see and use it and "disable transmog" for people that dont want to use it and see it because for them it ruins vanilla feel of gear/character progression? I'm not actually even sure if that is somehow possible but im curious because it would make both sides happy.
Can you tell me at least if there will be a fresh realm for it? I want to start on your server but if i do it now and a month later a new fresh realm with new graphics come out i level up for nothing 😅

@@Simppu1410 I don’t play it. I can’t stand the 1.12 client limitations. This update is what might get me to play again. There’s absolutely nothing charming about 2004 graphic textures. Blizzard themselves don’t even use the original 1.12 features for their classic era servers. If you’re that nostalgia crazy, there’s plenty of no change legacy servers. But most of us want vanilla PLUS. Meaning a modernized version of vanilla without the game breaking mechanics of expansions that killed the open world.
@@milesmorales5271 I'm down for them developing whatever graphical improvements they want as long as it's optional like it is now with the HD patch. The retro style is a huge part of the atmosphere of the game.
@@TRG29338 I’m not against having multiple options for preferred style of play. But they definitely need to abandon the 1.12 client. It feels clunky and lacks a lot of macro, addon support and quality of life features.
It's probably to match the WoW Classic client. New shadows that are actually an outline rather than just a fuzzy circle, the updated water effects which are so much better and the new grass effects which are more clusters and move when you walk through them. I'm all for it and looking forward to it.

Hello there people im new to wowturtle but is under my itention for a lot of time .im consider to abadon retail and coming on wow turtle im a rogue with 150.000 hours of pvp .does the players playing pvp on turtle wow ? I also see that you have arena is that right ? You also have arena items?
That's not happening. Fresh turtle servers kill the game, look what happened to the PvP server. Even the best case, where the server doesn't die, would be bad, as it would split up the community. Turtle WoW philosophy isn't based around creating end game, but content for 1 - 60, so people are always creating new characters.
They've already tried. Last year they took down Turtle's socials, but they went up again some time later. It seems Blizz has a hard time doing anything against pservers not based in the US.

Looks like a new client that support dynamic shadows, tonemaping, bloom and custom shaders like the wind through grasses and clouds

Remember to clean your PC from time to time. Thermal paste gets crusty and dust gets everywhere.
