I have another super slim at home and take games home to play them when I can. Trying to build a games area in my spare bedroom but the missus is not playing nice right now 🤣

I got quite a bit of ps3 games, this just means I need to expand my ps3 collection again.
PS3 was actually the last platform I had discs on. They're packed away somewhere. Can't use em now anyway, but if the Pro has a disc drive like how they did with the newer PS5, I might grab that model.
I just wish Sony would add modern day controls to the classic games catalog 😭

They've added custom controls, so you can rearrange the button layout if you want. They've only added that this year.

Bring on all the classics. A killzone remake with a PlayStation VR two port should be a no-brainer, same with resistance. Sly Cooper is a cool game, but it seems like Sony just gave up on a lot of their IP‘s like you were showing infamous gameplay in this video. Why did they stop the infamous franchise? I love Sony, but sometimes I can’t stand the decisions that they make.
I think with infamous Sucker punch wanted to do something different.
They made infamous 1,2, festival of blood, second son and last light. They’ve only made one Ghost of Tsushima game 😅

I believe that they didn't released Astro Bot last Year cause we got Spiderman last year. And Sony knew that we won't get anymore First Party Games till 2025 so they probably wanted to keep it for this year to have something

I had about 100 ps3 games but i sold most and just modded couple ps3s to back them up on and use rpcs3. Did this for all my entire collection. Cleared up a lot of space and made a lot of money 🤓😎

I do own a PS3 but don't now how much longer it will last and it's over-heating so Hell Yes! I want that Backwards Compatibility! It's high time Sony makes on the promise of Backwards Compatibility and Remastering for PS3 games like the Whole God of War Collection The original God of War 1-3 & Chains of Olympus & Ghost of Sparta can you imagine these games with proper Upscaling/Rendering/Remastering Engine Digitally and on Discs like Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 1 & 2, even Games like Young Justice, Captain America: Super Soldier Game, X-Men Game even the Wolfenstein (2009) game (The last I liked in the Series) & The previous Prince of Persia Sands of Time games Remastered, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Hellboy: The Science of Evil, Star Wars: Force Unleashed 1&2, Generator Rex: Agent of Providence, for PS3; on PS2 on Justice League, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds Ultimate Spider-Man, Hulk Ultimate Destruction, nearly every one of these I only have on Disc that lets us play our PlayStation Games that Look and Play Better with Haptics & Adaptive Triggers! We as Playstation Fans, Those New to the Console or Returning Gamers NEED to be given a WAY to play our PlayStation Games and be Reminded WHY we Should be playing on PlayStation Consoles instead of Going over to Gaming PCs, what Has Made PlayStation Great and what Makes it Great now and to actually have our loyalty rewarded! Others have proven it can be done with nowhere near the amount of resources that Sony & PlayStation have; so if Sony wants people to buy their Consoles then this NEEDS to happen! I still have several PS3 disks and have several digital downloads on the PS3 console self. The streaming service to play PS3 games is not available here in New Zealand so if we could play the discs and/or digital versions we have natively on the PS4 and 5 consoles then that would be fantastic.

I have all my PlayStation systems along with there libraries of games… I actually like taking out my old systems and playing the original games..
Never have I own a ps3, but I do own a ps2 slim. Got like 15 games for it. If sony does choose to put ps3 natively on ps5/ps6 (which I do think it'll he ps6), I hope they keep the native bc on the console and do bc for the rest of the previous gen...at least ps2.

Got 15 ps3 games like Battlefield, Bad Company 2 Ultimate edition, Little big planet, Mod Nation Racers, Sid Meier civilization revolution, Black ops 2, Assassin Creed Revelations, Brutal Legend, Resistance fall of Man, Fifa 16 Deluxe Edition, Modern Warfare 3, WWE 13, Monopoly, Far Cry 4 Limited Edition, Minecraft, Angry Birds. Had more but must’ve lost some or got rid of some.
One game I would get that I actually enjoyed was SplitSecond on PS3 that I never finished and kinda regret it
they need to make an external drive that plays all the game discs from ps1-ps2-ps3-psp-vita. that would be the only way to make everyone happy.

Yes. I still have my PS3 games. All of the ones I bought. Never returned or traded anything. Why the hell wouldn't I or anyone else who had a PS3 NOT have them still? So, yeah, I want to put those disc in a PS5 and play them on the console.

Astrobot development time is surprising to hear that it takes 3 years. So yes, I agree that Sony delayed it for the pro variation. That makes a lot of sense.
Backwards compatibility for ps3 would be utterly incredible although I am unsure if it is realistic. Perhaps they will lock it to ps5 pro or even Perhaps ps6. Apparently the ps5 is still having issues handling ps3 emulation. I would love to play infamous in an upgraded fashion.

The thing is that is really frustrating is that the pc community makes incredible emulation and backwards compatibility compared to the actual company that made them in the first place.
If Sony is waiting for people to transition, that is messed up. Those of us that already wanted to upgrade have already done so. Releasing this emulation software would actually entice people to upgrade.
Brother I would pay full fudging price for killzone remasters. I love that franchise so much. Honestly my second favorite Sony franchise. This is why it's important to hold onto legacy consoles and disc's. These games were on ps now, plus, and then randomly taken off over a year ago.

I doubt Sony will add ps3 backward compatibility disc support on PS5. They want you to repurchase them just like ps1/ps2 classic games.
There's a chance that PS3 Dics support could be added to PS5...thou it would be impossible to add PS1 support. And the early titles of PS 2 since they were on CD... But they could go the " Scan your Game Case Barcode" route to snag a Free Digital copy of a PS 1 and 2 game.
@kaeganthornhill3936 Blu-ray drive is backward compatible with CD and DVD. PS1 and PS2 games are much easier to emulate than PS3. If Sony wanted to add disc support for ps1 and ps2, they would have done that already. I guess the main issue is the PS5 doesn't have the hardware to determine whether the game disc is authentic or not.
@@johnsonluk3468 Quite true, and I couldn't have said it better my self. Thou Sony choose to Mod the UHD drive in the PS5 to help insure the maximum speeds are reached. So they locked away CD support and limit DVD-R uses. So really they either need to come out with a " Legacy Plantation App" which Unlock the CD and Full DVD-R support ( and maybe add a warning stating- While using this App PS5 games won't work as efficiently, or maybe temporarily turn them off).....Or better yet to remove any flows/handy caps...Sony just come out with a Mini PS3 plug n play drive which support PS1 & 2 discs.
Edit: And yeah like you potined out the PS5 doesn't sport the needed software/chipset to help identify real or counterfeit Discs..So they might ask for the Game Case Barcode.

That couldn't be achieved through a firmware update. That would require a hardware refresh. The full disc backwards compatibility, I mean.

There are so many titles on PS3..That I still actually play on PS3..I feel like Sly 4 is definitely one of those select PS3 titles..This explains why Sony has not fully pulled the plug on PSN (on PS3) some even say, Ubisoft even restarted servers on PS3 titles..Disc support > Digital support that's what I always say..but when I got my PS3..I got it once it was Jailbroken..so all of my PS3 are digital...except for few that I still have physical copies...God of War 3, God of War: Ascension..and a couple of more...This is only I can see Resistance and Killzone getting preserved..I would rather have it remade..but then again..its Sony....and we know how they treat their IPs (sucks though)..
