Politically, NC is a purple state. Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Wilmington, Charlotte, and Ashville all have a liberal bent. While SC is deep red. It's hard to find a city in SC that feels politically progressive.
They know better in S.C.
Charleston was the 5th largest city in the us back in the early year's also.
We live just south of Charlotte in South Carolina. Get the best of both states. Lower tax and fuel rates, close to Charlotte International Airport. Just a few hours drive to mountains or the beach. Plus less exposure to hurricanes.

Property taxes are higher in SC
By the way both states also come from the same colonies in which they were named after,Carolina back in the early year's.The NFL team Carolina Panthers also played in South Carolina and North Carolina. The sand from both states were used to build Bank Of America Stadium in Charlotte.

What is the airport access in S Carolina?
Savannah International Airport is about 30 minutes from Bluffton, SC and about 50 mins from Hilton Head Island. Hilton Head has a regional airport on the island. Charleston International, Columbia Metropolitan, Greenville-Spartanburg International, Myrtle Beach International & Florence Regional. I think that covers it!
