The Final Horizon was a great experience from start to finish. While I do have some issues with the difficulty balance, character movesets, and combat, the rest of the time was fun. This update does leave me hopeful for Sonic's future, bringing back playable characters leaves so much room to explore from both a gameplay and story perspective. Open-Zone feels like the best of both worlds for Adventure and Boost, so I hope they continue to expand and improve on it based on the feedback. I definitely want to see more difficulty that encourages mastering level design similar to SA2, that game's challenges through extra content was very rewarding and I'd like to see that implemented more. We only got a taste of that in 1-2 and the Tower Challenges. Overall, I'm hoping we get more story that stays true to established lore and characters, solid gameplay with fast-paced movement and combat, a bigger emphasis on exploration, and playable characters that are consistently as fun as Sonic.
I'm hoping they take this approach and actually make some smaller scale games(like maybe we could get a smaller scale Shadow game or Blaze game, etc.). I just feel like after getting those other characters, open zone meshes with Sonic TOO WELL.
As far as mainline games, I think they have a formula down now. But I'm worried that they are going to oversaturate with too many games like in the early 2000s.
I don't think they're gonna overdo it on the games, only because the amount of time games take to develop is WAY longer than what it used to be in general. If anything I think we're gonna see quite a few rereleases before the next big mainline title. If not that, smaller games developed by studios like SEGA Hardlight.
Another fantastic video, you got some of the thought I have like the final boss while is my favourite, the dev realised the cord was stupid. I also love that you are happy with this update even there are jank, for a free update that was not planned initially, is very solid Great video again can’t wait for sonic movie 3 Also it seems you made this video before the patch what do you think of it
@@Shadicstick yeah...no i don't think that's a good idea to make multiple ending it's just doesn't work...look at shadow the hedgehog this ga,e unnecessarily has 10 ENDINGS!!! for no good reason
My only issue story wise is that they kind of reduced Sonic's personality I know they are trying to make the story more serious for all the characters, but they did not feel like themselves for the most part and it made character interactions less interesting than they should have been. At least between sonic and Amy I hope they make him more like prime sonic in the next game since he has the more somber side that this game showed but he still felt like himself and I hope Amy in the next game is more like boom Amy from either the show or games. And since the visual novel game brought him back a bit in that sense it might seem like the case for the next game since that one was after frontiers and a big part if it was its shock value. It's not that the story is not interesting since I do like the implication of the end's existence and how its see's other bosses as nothing to it, and how the Koko are related to the chao, the ancient's tech and the chaos emerald being synced. not only that but the potential for cyber sonic to be a returning form for sonic.
I hope there is less automation in the cyberspace levels or whatever liner bits they add in the next game and maybe add more to Sonic's controls to make Him stand out more if playable characters are going to be a standard.
they would most likely just copy paste the open-zone's controls for others sonic games i mean they are already doing it as we speak! look at shadow generation's controls it just the same as the open-zone's controls they just re-used open-zone's controls from frontiers and that's good in my opinion because the controls are very well.

My thoughts exactly

@@Shadicstick Sorry, I meant for the side games. Last year we had Origins Plus, Superstars and Dream Team. That's overkill imo.
@@thaneros One was a rerelease and all 3 were made by different dev teams
I wished for a Sonic frontiers in the past. I love Now how sonic can fight. I hope they stay in this formula and add more playable characters
I think they will. It combines the best of both worlds and even the detractors can't seem to stop playing it.
@@Shadicstick they said Open Zone formula may last for 20 years
@@filmogradtvjuniors7658 I mean, if we get a new game every 4 years or so, that's only gonna be 4-5 games.

Great video again can’t wait for sonic movie 3

I wonder if they will make alternate ending DLCs for future games.
I doubt but I think multiple endings in the same game wouldn't be out of the question

Thanks broski. Glad someone appreciates the effort.
