I’m a registered Democrat. I have voted for many republicans in the past... many. Mostly for governor of New York (not a Cuomo fan) but also for senate-I never voted for Hillary Clinton ever. I have never voted republican for president. I voted democrat a few times and libertarian a few times. However, that all said I was about to vote for John McCain in 08, I was all set to pull the lever for him and then he went and picked Sarah Palin to run with him. Vote lost. I would vote for Charlie Baker, I would vote for Larry Hogan, Chris Sununu, Phil Scott. I’d definitely vote for them, but I would never vote for Donald Trump or anyone like him and that’s what Pete is getting at. I’m a registered Democrat. I have voted for many republicans in the past... many. Mostly for governor of New York (not a Cuomo fan) but also for senate-I never voted for Hillary Clinton ever. I have never voted republican for president. I voted democrat a few times and libertarian a few times. However, that all said I was about to vote for John McCain in 08, I was all set to pull the lever for him and then he went and picked Sarah Palin to run with him. Vote lost. I would vote for Charlie Baker, I would vote for Larry Hogan, Chris Sununu, Phil Scott. I’d definitely vote for them, but I would never vote for Donald Trump or anyone like him and that’s what Pete is getting at. There’s a sharp contrast between McCain republicans and Trump republicans and this country operates best with a stable two party system. For the sake of the GOP Trump has to lose. If not, that party will go the way of the Whigs because the majority simply can’t stomach the nonsense we’ve endured the last four years.
