    This wall was built by @drystonepaul on instagram, I was local so used the opportunity to film the frame construction.

    Hi Tom, What would you say the ideal width at the top of the wall should be for the the copers to sit on? I know you are so good you can eye ball but I would struggle to determine how wide the bottom and the top should be. Many thanks.

      Depending on the size of the stone but it’s usually half as wide as the base.
      If you are using smaller regular stone then 700mm by 350mm or larger chunky stuff you can go 800mm by 400mm just try take an average looking at the stones you are going to use to top the wall and base it on that

    Assuming that the wall is to be scratch built new in a field (not in town) in an area of wet clay soil with deep winter frost.
    Questions:
    1 - what depth of crushed clear stone base
    2 - what is the recommended taper on the sides e.g. 1cm/6cm
