I can’t imagine how difficult this scene must’ve been for them to film
Coordination.
When I saw the original scene, I wondered how they did their camera cuts so perfectly. Then I see this and realize, no cuts, just pure talent.
Only One cut- the scene at 1.30 is cowboy switched/bit of CG
@@FilmKilnMore like two digital stiched in cuts. Everything else is just choreography.
i like that extras in the background are jamming even when they're not on camera
I loved the guy at back left who puts Matt smiths cigarette out in the stage without breaking character. Totally out of shot but he stays in the role.
@@lesigh1749 you notice something new every time/ We only see guy walking there in the shot
At the very start, just before they start dancing. There's a lady in a white dress dancing away 😂 It's good that the pimps didn't see her 😂
Speaking as someone who has worked as an extra, you always do stuff like that 'cause they never freakin' tell you where the camera is! Haha! You stay in character at all times, just out of pure paranoia that you might somehow end up on camera. Especially, in a scene like this where the camera is spinning, you're never sure/told how big the frame is or how much you might be in focus. So, just in case... you keep the business going. 😉
0:41-1:10 It's very funny to see Ellie's & Sandie's actresses quickly crouch down beside or behind & qucikly walk a few metres away from Jack's actor & stand at the same position where they are going to "switch character" back & forth when the camera is not shot at one of them
Now I understand how this scene is so perfect! Matt Smith is in another level, an Anya wow, just wow
Don’t forget tomasin!
@@charlotteashley04 that girl is a better actress tbh
And Thomasin McKenzie, of course!
And don´t forget the cameraman.
Don’t forget the choreographer either
Amazing that they did this the old-fashioned way but it looks so seamless that everyone probably thinks it's CG stitching.
THE WHOLE DANCE WITH THE DRINK IN HAND MAKES IT 1000000 TIMES HOTTER
God, the coordination on this must have been a nightmare! This film needs more respect.
Ah yes I knew it! At first I thought that they actually just cut it to perfection but it was just way too smooth. I also love how Anya and Thomasin are sneaking around to stay out of the shot 😂❤
Holy crap… the timing to have the two women both dance is insane
Practical effects done brilliantly.
Plus, the Magic of edditing 👏🏻
When I first watched this movie I was impressed with how crisp the editing was. Now I’ve seen this I am even more impressed.
This is AMAZING! Props to EW for keeping it out of CGI. Also, what a great film. Loved it.
From interview with Tom Proctor (VFX supervisor): "Another great collaborative shot like this was the dance with Jack where Sandie and Eloise magically switch places with one another. We rehearsed this over and over again to get the timings perfect and relied on a mix of in-camera and digital swaps. Again huge props to Jen and Chris and our amazing actors and dancers."
love it, so creative
We have this scene and the pulp fiction scene as the most iconic dances in the history of the cinema.
Legendary shots ❤🔥
Omg. It's amazing to see how flawlessly all three of them dance. 😍 saw this video multiple times. Too good 👍
This is so good
Very clever!
The constant switching must've been a whole mission to get right.
вауч, это даже без склейки, одним дублем
Dope scene.
How to create a MASTERPIECE 🔥
Finally, a modern film without having to use CGI for everything.
What a hardworking 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Impressive!
Wow gilakkkkk! Speechles cokkkk
I thought it couldn't be vfx. I doubted a little because who doesn't use vfx these days and that, for the simplest things? Knowing I'm right and seeing how it's done, made it 10x better.
Whilst watching this scene I wondered if there was some Michel Gondry style switching going on. Nicer than edits or CGI. Great film
I watched the whole movie thinking that Sandie and Ellie were played by the same actress, just with different hair and makeup, and so that's why Jack would suddenly appear to be dancing Ellie instead of with Sandie.
lol when Eloise went blond she kinda did look like Sandie
amazing !!! dance scenes in movies always intruigs me !! Also matt smith is fucking hot goddamnnnnnn
🔥❤️
Bro at 0:56 bottom left suddenly vibing with the spirit😀
Movie magic. She’s not really dancing in heels.
this scene is frigging awesome!!!
but I think this is not the one used into the film: it missess two swtiches (the first two, which are the most spectacular)
It is the one used in the film, but those switches you refer to are done using visual effects and are incorporated digitally. But you can see how they achieve all the other cuts in this clip.
@@pauldee227 thank you!!!
@SOLO The end of the video with just Thomasin shows that first cut. The stunning thing is they didn't use a motion control rig, just an amazing camera operator who could replicate the same camera move. The director explains it toward the end of the video linked here...

@@keyman6689 thank you so much ♥
Name song? 👀
Wade In The Water by the band Graham Bond.
Underrated movie, but don't show it to any cam girls, could devastate them.
Pretty much the Sandies of our time.
