One of the famous stories in the written version of Titanic is of when the stewards finally organized the third class passengers and led them up through the first class lounges to the boat deck. The real problem wasnt that the stewards were callous, but that the pathway from third class to the boat deck was a literal maze of passages. One design flaw of Titanic is that there wasn't one central main stairway for all classes. They needed to have the Grand Staircase go all the way down, and have drills in which people were shown the way out in case of emergency.

The one in the yellow dress was good, but Margo never took her eyes off of him! That was the connection!

The only WW1 German helmets that I know of that were decorated with a painted skull were those worn by Pioneer Flamethrower personnel. The lazy S of the flamethrower flame pattern to sweep a trench is painted beneath it. They were painted on the helmet's left side. I have an original camo one in my collection. I also believe that the Death's Head Luger was used by them as well, also incorporating the lazy S marking.

I’m still surprised they didn’t make it out. The main reason many 3rd class passengers died was they didn’t know English and were thus unable to understand the situation until it was too late. Cora and her family spoke English so I don’t see why they were unable to leave 3rd class.
