It’s just basically impossible for a wing or guard to come close to the defensive impact of a center or big forward. But Mills is definitely in the group of smaller players, like Smart and Holiday, who come closest to achieving that level.
@@samhartje723 You couldn't be more wrong. A Center or big Forward is limited by their speed up and down the floor. Has any player in either of those positions ever run someone as fast as say Steph Curry off the dribble and resulted in him having THE worst night in his entire career? No, but Mikal has. @@samhartje723 the analyst this year have all been saying that those said stats should change because stats don’t tell the whole story. That’s the reason the media now talks about mikal and smart for runner ups in the award, because even modern day media considers those stats to be bs when considering how much a player helps defensively to his team
@@samhartje723 and added to all of the things I said about the media you should search video compilations of Rudy gobert getting OWNED by guards all over the NBA. Dude only obtains his stats in the paint, if you take him out of there he is helpless, meanwhile mikal obtains his stats both in the paint AND the perimeter, which gives him a stronger case since he is more versatile and more well rounded of a defender because he can guard from the 1 all the way to the 4 and even some 5s, but gobert can only guard 4s, 5s, and only some 3s.
So underrated man he got high ceiling with his offensive games too
