That name was given to him by Shinda himself…he asked him to sing a song during one of his Akhadas…as a return favour since Amar Singh had been writing his songs.
This movie has been loosely based on Chamkila’s life…don’t take it too seriously even the disclaimer says so in the beginning that it’s pure work of fiction & adequate cinematic liberty has been taken.

@@LkshySharma they can still opt for a theatrical release. In the UK with the film Matilda (the musical) they brought it exclusively to cinemas but after a few months released it onto Netflix, everywhere but the UK.
We had to wait a few months extra before it came onto Netflix UK.
They could release the Chamkila film in theatres across India and then give exclusive Netflix broadcast to Rest of the World, delaying India for around 6 months. They'll still make plenty of money.
This movie is nothing less than a masterpiece. High chances of Diljit probably getting a national award for this.
