Thank you for this video! I’ve been looking everywhere for a good comparison as they are so similar. This video was so clear and made my decision so easy! Thank you!
I Love how easy this czcams.com/users/postUgkxvAj3godqGAIP5rApM1laH767JGtPG1-h carrier is to adjust from my friend to me taking turns holding the baby! It provides great support on my back too! This has definitely made shopping easier! I always get asked where I get it too!
Thank you for an incredibly informative video: Very good. Now it will be easier to choose. I got one question. It was a bit confusing in the chapter about sun / rain covers. Is the sun / raincover at the deuter kid comfort PRO waterproof or is it not?
Hi there, thanks for your question. Yes the sun roof does offer some protection from rain. The main issue is that if the rain is coming down at an angle your baby will get wet without the green rain cover. The rain cover is also really useful to keep your baby warm even if it isn’t raining.
Hi. I watched both this comparison and the other 2 vids and 1 question popped up. From the way that it is looking, side by side, the integrated shade cover on the pro seems to be smaller and cover less area than the separated cover on the non-pro version. Is this the fact? Because for a baby a good shade covered area is a really important point and could be a decision factor.
Hi there, good question. the KC pro actually provides a bit more shade as the sun canopy wraps around the edges of the baby carrier more than the KC. As we didn't have the carriers weighted (filming with babies is challenging!) the KC Pro is quite compressed so the sunshade hasn't fully opened (you can see it's creased at the top). In proper use the seat would move back further so the sunshade would be tighter and longer. I hope that makes sense!
@@LittleAdventureShop thanks a lot! It totally does make sense, it seemed to me that it wasn't fully opened as you mentioned but I just wanted to make sure since I will probably soon be getting one of these :) just tried the base version for 2 days walking in the forest and I was quite happy. So based on your reviews and comment I would probably go for the pro option. Thanks for your vids, they are really helpful! P. S. I can imagine how filming this with a baby would be like :D
Hey there from Poland ;) we're about to buy Deuter carrier; it seems to be good choice for short and long distance hiking trips. On the other hand, we have some doubts, which carrier is better: Deuter or Osprey. Two good manufacturers, both have good opinion... Osprey is maybe little more expensive, but not the price is the problem - comfort of our 10-months boy is the most important here. What will you advice? Best wishes, Eve, Peter and little Stan ;)
Hello - and thanks for watching! They are both great carrier brands, but we don't have enough experience with the Osprey carriers to give a fair comparison. What we can say is that both our children grew up in Deuter carriers and we took them for some very long walks and they both loved sitting in them. We'd recommend the Kid Comfort/Pro for really long trips as your child is likely to fall asleep at some point and they have the biggest/softest chin and head rests. Both those carriers also come with sun canopies to provide shelter from sun and wind. You really can't go wrong with any of the Deuter range. I hope that's helpful - and good luck with your search!
What about the sunshade side coverage? It looks different on the Pro version... maybe more fabric? Is that a hindrance (decreases child's field of view) or a plus (more weather coverage)?
Hi, good question. The way the Kid Comfort Pro sun canopy is designed to pull from the headrest means it does have more side coverage. I don't think it's really an issue with decreasing your child's field of view, as in reality if you see something interesting to the side, you'll naturally turn around and point at it so your child will be looking straight ahead. Also in my experience my child was only awake for the first 10 minutes of every trip!I think the you do get more weather protection in the Pro as the sun canopy will block out more of the side wind, but as soon as you put the full rain cover on both carriers there is really no difference in weather protection. Hope this helps!
No, not really. In my experience kids tend to move forwards when they sleep in the carrier. The main advantage is the sun shade is always in place and it might be a bit more comfortable for your child when they are toddlerish age (3yrs) as there will be a bit more cushioning around their head as they grow. The other side of this is that the Pro looks very big for a 6 month old!
@@LittleAdventureShop thank, one more question, do you find any difference between deuter kid comfort and osprey poco in terms of the amount of space for the kid, and also in the weight balance? Does the kid stay closer to your back in any of those or it's the same?
@@mmmmkkk Hi, you'll find that there is more space in the Deuter carriers for the child. However you'll feel that the weight is closer to you with the Osprey and the "cockpit" is more structured which means there's less wriggle space.
Frame based systems are certainly very good at distributing load - particularly when the waist-belt is adjusted and used properly. We'd advise that you get advice from a medical practitioner if you suffer from back-issues. They will be able to advise you what is the best way of carrying your child for your particular circumstances. Hope that helps.
Whats confusing? If they would have two completely different names it would be confusing because you wouldn't know which is the more expensive model. Any product that's called pro is the more advanced and more expensive model.
Thanks a lot for this review, now I've finally understood the differences which even the Deuter website couldn't explain so clearly.
Thank you for your lovely comment, so glad you found it useful.

which whould you recommend between kid comfort 2 and 3 ? they are very similar, i am wondering if the price difference is worth it.
Hi it really depends what you want. The Pro (3 ) is bigger to store and more expensive but you get the integrated sun cover and more storage.
