- Countless Christians have grown in their knowledge of God through the influence of Dr. R.C. Sproul, founder of Reformation Bible College and Ligonier Ministries. Dr. Sproul was a lifelong student himself, and his personal library provides us with glimpses into how the Lord prepared him for decades of faithful service as a theologian, teacher, and Christian apologist.
Watch Books from the Life of R.C. Sproul, a special online streaming message from Dr. Stephen Nichols. In this message, Dr. Nichols highlights the R.C. Sproul Collection, featuring books that had a foundational influence on Dr. Sproul, his personal Bible, and several of his own seminal writings on the holiness of God and the truth of His Word.
This message is part of the Rare Book Room Series, a series of academic lectures and interviews from distinguished speakers. Each message highlights featured books from the Hansen Rare Book Room on the campus of Reformation Bible College
what a great time i have spend herer i loved it! God be Praised
I really do wish Ligonier would make Dr. Sproul's Moby Dick Thesis available online. I would love to read it.
Given how many times I've heard it referenced you'd think they would do.
Thank you Dr. Nichols for taking this time with us and providing a deeper insight into Dr. R.C. Sproul and the foundations of His personal study as a student and teacher.
Hey brother good to see you, hope your summer is going well!

Thank you for this lecture. Keep them coming please!
You mentioned, Steve, both John Gerstner and rational theology as vital subjects for RC. Any chance Ligonier will republish Gerstner's massive study The Rational Theology of Jonathon Edward soon?
Yesss please... same request here.
Thank you!
Inspiring. Thank you
Thats great, although I would've thought that you would show more different books he read and studied as sort of recommendation. Thank you Steve and blessings from france where I watch this video in holidays (I am from germany).
What is the music at the beginning? Is it from Dr. Sproul's "Glory to the Holy One?"
WITHOUT EXCUSE
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
Romans 1:20
Judge: Why did you remain in unbelief ?
Reprobate : I was born hated and rejected by my God, who sealed me in unbelief from the time I was born till the time I died because of the sin of another.
Can you think of a better excuse than that ?
Thanks Calvin 💐
Spanish Please 😭😭😭🇬🇹

It's puzzling how such brilliant theological minds who has explained and understood that God is a Holy God; yet they make such theologial blunder by saying God has predestined them in Christ and we are born in sin at the same time.
IF THE CHURCH DOCTRINE that innocent little babies are born in sin; then God cannot be a Holy God.
Because for God to predestined people in Christ; and born in sin at the same time; these two doctrines are hostile and irreconcilable.
You need to read the entire chapter of Romans 8...
“For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.”
Romans 8:29-30
We were all born into sin. Born sinners. If we somehow could stop our own sin or become not sinful, why would we need Christ to die on the cross if we could some how do it ourselves?
“However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.”
Romans 8:9-10
“If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”
1 John 1:8-10
