Oh man! I appreciate this video. Thankyou for posting! I’m heading to a salvage yard soon to get this part and the bumper underneath. I think I would’ve taken much longer to figure it out had I not had this guidance.
lmao even tho ive done it on my 2020 wrx just wanted to get a quick overview so if there was something to be aware of i wouldnt have it occur to me. luckily its identical to removing the wrx bumper as well, replacing the grill with a jdm mesh one and some blacked out lights with led's. got the alpine carplay system installed, the wires ran for subs and an amp, got tweeters since my version didnt have any, got all new speakers as well, then ill be on to replacing suspension, brakes and rotors so that everything on the car is up to date. got a solid deal at only 5500 for a 2012 167k miles with so much maintenance records, even if the motor were to give out i could repair it and still get my money back or just keep using it as a daily. love subarus and how simplistic they are.
This was a big help for replacement of my 2011 Forester front grill. I was hesitant on putting more stress on the brackets attached to the bottom of the front bumper. Not kicking or screaming, didn’t even have to call the older brother! Done under an hour. Thanks!
JoeDIY&Rentals just tried that today.... Once you get the bumper off it's pretty straight forward on removing the headlight assembly. 3 bolts and out she comes
Don't pry the clips like that. He simply pulled the center pin out too far and it opens the lock legs again. Just push the pin back in a little bit and it will pop out easy.

Thanks dude! Super helpful.
I have to replace the washer reservoir on one we've just acquired and it's good to see it's pretty straight forward!

Nice work man
I had to replace our grill, someone tried to steal ours and broke it. Your video saved me some time and money. Thanks!
Damn I can’t believe someone tried to steal your grill. Tough world. 😂
Thank you for the video.
Great video
Thanks a lot. Was able to replace the horn thanks to you. Also reminder to remove headlamp washers cover before pulling out the bumper.
Thanks for the video... Found it very helpful. Not as intimidating as one may think!
Ty for the video. :))
Do you have a video that shows you how to remove the back bumper
ありがとうございます!助かりました。
Perfect. I have to do this to get to the condenser, and the shop manual made me not want to do it. But your video is great. Thanks!
Getting the bolts back on the condenser is nearly impossible without detaching the bumper. I was able to get it off, but not back on.
Thank you for the video. The front bumper popped out on the driver's side of my 2015 Forester and I have to pop it back in place.
Thank you for this video. I have to remove my bumper to replace the left side bracket and this helps. Thank you.
Can you put in the same clips that you took out? Or do you have to buy new clips?
They are reusable
Thank you so much for this video. Now i can install my LED lights in my new/used forester
Hey thanks for posting, the panel beater wanted to charge $300 to do this!
Could you please do a video on replace the headlight assembly after the bumper is off? Awesome video! Thank you!

Aloha Brother, can you just change the grill, not the whole bumper? Mahalo/Thank you in advance
Btw, AWESOME simple video...
Wish you went a step farther and removed one of the light assemblies
