It's brutal. It's heavy-opera. It's how it's supposed to be. A solid, heavy, dark, fearless voice, flooding the room and making us simply forget and forgive minor technical issues. It's absolutely real and miraculous at the same time. BRAVA! ❤👏

@@birdlover7776 basically regaring her pronunciation of some words and vowels. They sound rather foreign at times, not Italian. But nothing that interferes or diminishes the rendition so much. As I said, she had so many other qualities that it doesn't matter if her "accent" was not perfect.

They aren’t making opera singers like this anymore, vocal abandon, true expression, with a raw sound. This is what the opera composers sought out to hear, not timid singing.

I think you could say her voice is volcanic! Superb! This is what a dramatic mezzo should sound like.

Easily the greatest mezzo of the last 40+ years, and one of the best voices period. The uniqueness of her timbre, the massive wall of sound that she could produce, the energy that she exuded in her performances... Truly captivating.
Greater than Janet Baker? Very different but no greater, no way.
@@CandyLinton Well, let's take an honest look. Did Baker take on heavy Verdi roles? Nope. Did Baker appear in title roles at La Scala, Metropolitan Opera, Grande Opera on a regular basis? Nope. Only Covent Garden, but she is English right? Baker's repertoire included Mozart, Handel and that's it - typical lyric mezzo. She had a wonderful polished voice, but great - that's an overstretch. If you ARE great, top opera houses run after you. That was not the case with Baker.

Obraztsova's voice is not only a voice for the ears, it's a voice to feel with your body, your sternum. You can feel the vibrations going through your sternum. How can one resist to its wildness and violence ? This sure is one of the most erotic emissions I've ever heard in opera.

There are NO words to describe my feelings for Elena's voice! She was not scared to use ALL its colors, ring, an she gave balls when singing! She only sang for a little while cause of it. But, DANG!!!!! lololol this woman could SANG foreal! thats what sets her apart, she sang with her instrument an flavor. an most of us LOVED her for it!! Uniformità no, c'è un continuo uso della voce di petto, purtroppo molti mezzo lo usano tranne rarissime eccezioni
@@mariomario2825 ma e' proprio il diaframma che deve lavorare e non la gola. Io trovo abbia una tecnica perfetta e solida. Infatti era una delle migliori azucene. Voce potente e rotonda. Ma anche, dove occorre, dolce perche morbida. Grazie all' uso corretto drl diaframma
@@maurobernardini143 credo che lei abbia le idee poco chiare, cosa ha a che fare il diaframma con la poizione la relativa risonanza? Per usare le risonanza di petto, abbassa volontariamente la posizione, nulla a che fare con il diaframma.
