"I wouldn't even eat a fly...they'll see how good I am" (half remembered), loved it! 20 yrs since last I saw, I was more into Psycho 2 for the colors (and Meg Tilly) as a teen. Did pick up the original book by Robert Bloch (known Lovecraft alumni) just after on sale, and the movie is a great adaptation of the story as told, with "how-to-show-it" fixups/ changes from it, nothing removed/ all for the better. [edit commented just15 mins in, finished now, great show, great first pick! I'll trust next will be as good and informative]
I still haven't seen PSYCHO 2, but we'll probably cover it for this show!

A slightly obscure slasher favorite of mine is "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon." It's about a new killer in a world where all the famous slashers are real and also celebrities.

Please do Peeping Tom. Also hopes for Black Christmas (obviously in December at some point). And a whole bunch of Giallo Argento stuff, Bava stuff (Bird with the Crystal Plumage & Blood & Black Lace have big ol influences over stuff that came later). Oh yeah & go all the way back to what would be genesis (in my mind) of the Slasher with Fritz Lang's M.
My mother saw it when released in cinema in '60. She was 11yrs old, and her 3 older siblings took her with them. She & her sister, who was only 16mo older, were TRAUMATIZED. The 2 older brothers? Ofc they took full advantage of that. Siblings man.... 😂

Don’t know if you guys have seen Psycho 2 but it’s VERY underrated. Psycho 3 is not great and Psycho 4 is honestly not that bad for a TV movie. It even serves as a nice bit of closure. Less said about the remake with Vince Vaughn the better 😶😶..
