      I've always loved thunderstorms... They actually relax me lol, so I love watching these types of videos as well. I often just lay in bed with my headphones on with my eyes closed and I usually fall asleep listening to videos like this. Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoy them. Take care.

    I don't know what it is that makes me love storms so much........... I'm in total awe of the lightning, but at the same time I'm a lil scared of lightning. But nonetheless I still love storms like this, best sleeping weather ever!!!!

    Absolutely brilliant video, I actually used to be shit scared of thunderstorms, the slightest little rumble I would hear it about 1-2 miles away I am very sensitive to sounds, but ever since I have been with my partner I haven’t been scared of thunderstorms ever since, I even find thunder lightning and rain sounds rather therapeutic and relaxing and most of the time I listen to the thunderstorms on my phone and fall asleep to it xxx

    Tomorrow it’s going to be crazy where I live in New Jersey we might have possible power outages. I always look forward to this type of weather. I’ve been in so many storms and I’ve never saw a tree or pole get struck by lightning. I’ve seen hail twice once at my house in 2010 in May and the second time was on the road in North Carolina going to South Carolina for vacation

      Same here tonight. I'm looking forward to the T-Storms, but I am worried about the tornado warnings. I hope I can get some nice vids out of this, but at the same time, I don't want to be killed in the process. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching! Be safe 🍻

    Fun facts,Thunder is Lighting,that's why it's called a lightning storm because,when flashes happen,the crack comes after because of how fast the storm is moving

    • @ovaldreamx4397
      @ovaldreamx4397 Před 4 lety +2

      Mostly it comes later than the lightning because the speed of sound is inmensely inferior to the speed of light, so the light reaches you first and the sound (slower) reaches you later. In fact theres a fun little formula that lets you calculate the distance of a storm, just by counting the time between the light (lightning) and the crack.

      @@ovaldreamx4397 when I was around 5yo (I'm 36 now) my neighbors trailer got struck by lightning and caught fire. 😭 They were able to get out - thank God! Scared me so so bad. Every time it even rained I would nearly make myself sick from fear. 🥺 I remember my Gramps telling me that we could keep track of how far away the thunder part of the storm was so that I didn't have to worry worry worry the whole time. And I could go hide my eyes and ears when the storm was close and till it left 💜👍🏼 in my 5yo mind it was brilliant! And to this day I count - one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand 😌

      David Smith There could have been some light hail mixed in, but it's very rare down here in GA as I said in my other comment. I'd love to make a hail video though.

    • @Acuepk
      @Acuepk Před 5 lety +1

      ^ If this storm was filmed during the summertime, hail reaching the ground is rare like you mentioned particularly in the far southern states. But only because the atmosphere is typically a lot warmer than it is in the wintertime or early spring. There's mainly just enough ice growth in the upper parts of the storm (usually above 40,000 feet) to support stronger lightning discharges. But that's about it.

    • @Allen21758
      @Allen21758 Před 4 lety +1

      Hail is very possible, in fact I moved to Western Georgia from Indiana in October and my first week here we had a decent storm with hail in it.
