Hey, folks! Got another scene re-scored, and for another film scoring competition, too!
I actually didn’t know about this contest until about a few weeks ago, but once I saw it, I knew I had to participate. I’d seen this animated short film “Spring” before a few years ago, and I always thought how cool it would be to have scored something in the fantasy genre like that. Well - now I have! At least, a 3-minute snippet of it, anyways, but still, this was an excellent project to flex my fantasy writing skills once more.
You could also consider this a test run for how the soundtrack for “Arcane Merchant” will sound. This is the first time I’m using Nashville Scoring Strings, Junkie XL Brass, and Cinematic Studio Woodwinds in a proper context for an actual project, and the sound is incredible. My poor MacBook absolutely hated having to work with such a huge project file, but the results are so worth it.
That’s all for now, folks! Got another short music project after this one, and then, I should be good to get back to TATAM!
In the meantime, have a good one, folks!
    Best,
    Adam

Lol, not really. I mainly only do music for friends or my own projects. I'm super new and unknown.
Thank you for the watch, though! Glad you enjoyed it. Good luck to you, too, if you entered!

Oh I love that chase scene! Well done! It's so interesting to see how everyone scores this in their own way, hits different frames, emphasize different emotions.

It's definitely a push and pull, and you have to trust your instincts when you're scoring a scene that goes from slower to faster moments and then back again, especially a film like this where it switches between awe and frantic desperation.
Thanks so much for watching! Thrilled you liked it. Good luck on your entry as well!

Thanks so much! I always love getting the chance to do music for the fantasy genre, and this was a great choice of film to use. Kudos to the filmmakers for letting us use their film!

I'm so happy to hear that - I definitely was going for a huge, orchestral fantasy sound that we often hear in the trailers for Pixar films, and Disney films in general, and I'm happy to hear that I've more or less nailed that sound.
      Thanks for watching!

I only made the music. The animation was a clip provided by the filmmakers of the original short for this scoring contest.
