This has to be the best zoom tutorial on the internet. Almost 99% of the videos I've seen so far are so frustratingly annoying and useless, while yours is pinpoint detailed and precise for new ESL teachers. Thank you. :)

Another classic from the world of Dotto! Not just “feature” but “advantages” then “benefits” to hosts and participants. What Steve does supremely well Is create a warm enabling engaging atmosphere which is so hard to do in a virtual space. I have learnt so much from him over the years in different apps eg Screenflow. Thanks Steve!

That's a slap my head moment, sharing a second camera (webcam). I saw it there before but never thought about how wonderful it could be for doing ZOOM meetings/webinars. Keep it up Steve, I remember your videos and tv shows from those days!!

I've been using Zoom and hosting meetings for the past five years. When sharing your screen, you should ***NOT*** click on "Optimize Screen Share for Video Clip." You get bad results if you do. I've spoken with people at ZOOM and they are aware of the issues. Bandwidth and device issues create unnecessary problems with that selection. When hosts and/or participants clicked on that feature, we saw pixelation and floating toolbars.. When the person sharing his/her screen turned that option off, the problems disappeared and we got terrific results.

We know we can't play together through Zoom (or anything else) for real due to the latency, so are getting up to speed with sharing videos and audios as play-alongs, conduct-alongs and music-minus-ones etc. for our presentations and rehearsals. Steve, you've done it again...EXCELLENT! If you're hosting from something other than a Mac, you can still share your iPad screen, but as a different user that you make a co-host. It took a little searching on my part to find the way to get "Share Screen" to show up on the iPad, but once you do it, it works fine. Ok, it's a bit of a kludge compared with what you showed, but it works and works well.

The out put lagged tremendously on Zoom. First your suggestion to connect my ipad, or perhaps my phone using a cable made sense. I even downloaded Reflector and was advised using OBS as another option. I just bought a webcam, tripod, mic, etc. Your video gave me more hope.

Hi, Steve. Thanks for your Zoom tutorials, which I have found very useful. as I now need to use this kind of technology for the first time. It's great you have considered that you have some viewers who are at beginner level (including me) who appreciate tips so basic that other instructors may not think of mentioning them. For example, I have felt inconvenienced that my Share Screen buttons were stuck at the top of the screen. Your tip that those buttons could be easily moved to the bottom is helpful to me. In the many other tutorials I've seen, no other instructor has thought to mention this. Thank you!

Our Mac User Group was having trouble sharing Keynote presentations reliably from a Mac, either the shared content isn't visible or won't advance from slide to slide. Some members have been able to get it working in Keynote preferences but not the fellow doing the presentation. Our solution is to attach an iPad to a Mac via USB & selecting that via Zoom screen sharing, playing the Keynote on the iPad. The presenter couldn't get his iPad Pro visible with this process but another could do it with a 5th gen plain iPad.
So it's proposed the presenter (also the meeting host) allows this other user to share his iPad via screen sharing & move forward or backward through the presentation via verbal commands.

Thanks Steve. That was helpful...gives me a reason to purchase an ipad pro!!! What about using the "partial screen" under advanced settings??

What do you recommend for getting access to the internet so I can take students on a virtual tour of a museum or zoo? I have an iPad and PC laptop.

Do you have a video on remote control? It is important for some of the tutoring I'm doing and the instructions I find around seem outdated.

Awesome video!!! I just have one question; how can I intersperse the video playing on my desktop with my speaking for commentary? I do want the video to have its own audio coming through as well. Thanks very much

Great tutorial!!! Any suggestions or videos on what participants see when the host is sharing. I recently was the host of a zoom meeting and was very concerned that the participants were seeing my screen actions (it was a powerpoint presentation).
