man is a genius. the waking bass line when Kai is soloing is just sublime
Thank you CZcams, I never heard of Joscho until last week. I have become a fan.
Joscho's solo is a fantastic cocktail of Django, Joe Pass, own signature licks, and traces of Eric Clapton's pentatonic blues licks - all delivered to maximum listener satisfaction!
and wes
it's so nice to hear/see Joscho with someone who plays simply, earnestly but still very well. So used to seeing everyone pulling out every dumb flashy trick they know just to compete with Joscho. Of course I don't blame them, the spirit of competition is a fun part of this style of playing, but, ya know... whatever... this is good. I like this.
Great to see equal range in chords, baselines and not just single note soloing. Truly mastering the guitar.
Joscho has devastating technique , but such smooth transition between soloing styles and absolutely nothing but love and dedication .
GOD BLESS
God has given us such wonderful delicacies as this to richly enjoy.
Mr. Joscho Stephan, Respect and appreciation. Such feeling and tone.
Amazing Joscho !
The level of understanding by many commenters is very good. Subtle is not necessarily going to be the most accurate descriptive term for this arrangement. Joscho has influences that post date all of Django’s era and much of Birellis. Not the fault of anyone. This explains some of the flash currently being at the forefront. Sometimes to a traditionalist this will be intrusive, while simultaneously more appealing to younger listeners. There is no right or wrong. I try to watch what each artist does when they are charged with supporting the lead. These guys do that at such a high level that it is impossible not to enjoy every minute. If you were to ask them what rhythm accompaniment means to the performance, it might change your opinion of what you hear. The next time they play together they would change things almost completely. They are that good. What a pleasure.
So good... both of you! Thank you for making my day! 👌🙂
Just love this. Joscho, always top of his game. "Swoon"
4:18 didn't know that Joscho was influenced by 8-bit Nintendo sound :D
I didn't see that Pink Panther quote coming around 3:30 - fantastic
Something Bireli also likes to do from time to time.
Joscho Stephan & Kai Heumann are exceptionally masters of the guitar I was surprised to see this video are on another planet, congratulations teachers
Bravo zulu wonderful strings masters
Two great guitarists! Bravo! Very enjoyable improvisations! 😉
¡¡¡Barrilete cósmico, de qué planeta viniste!!! 💓💓💓
Awesome, so great
Like it so much!!! Thank you 👍🏼😉
This song lends itself to jazz interpretation. Two consumate players. Could have left out the Pink Panther phrase but still magnificent.
Wow.. just wow.. La pompe on a concert acoustic with the hands! That's something!
Amazing.. amazing..
Joscho Stephan-The Best!!!
I must learn to play like this, the legacies must continue.
Astounding ...
tenacious D playing super mario over autumn leaves :D , great job !!!
these cats NAILED IT !
Excelente casi orgásmico!
Duo perfekt!
Best autumn leaves on the CZcams, their impro has its story
It is a very good version and to say it is the best version or You Tube is a matter of taste. Music is so subjective. Check this one, I do not say is better or not. It simply has its charm. czcams.com/video/9hjMisX997Y/video.html
My, my, my,.... how easy they make it look. Think of how many tens of thousands of hours of practicing in a room alone did it take to get so damn good!
To get that good you should leave your room and meet other musician, you'll learn much more
These guys are really good, but look at this Video: czcams.com/video/HxGT5z6d-GA/video.html

2:50 my brain exploded.
Very good .......yer...
Kai Heumann looked so lost at the end : "so... this must be the last bar ? Nope, he's still playing."
Tremendo Kai! Felicitaciones!!! Hermoso estilo. Sutileza, ingenio y claridad en el fraseo. Extraordinario.
Unreal and inspirational.
COMENTE ANTES DE VER TODO EL VIDEO Y RETIRO LO DICHO!!!! ES BUENISIIIIIIIIISIMO JAJAJAJAJAJJAJAJ EXCELENTE!!!!!!!!!!!
holy cow
Wonderful playing! Can you tell me the brand/model of the clip-on microphones you and JS are using?
I use a DPA 4099 G and Joscho, I believe, an Audiotechnica Clip MIC on the Inside of the Guitar. But you have to cutout some frequencies with an EQ. In Addition we both use Carlo Pickups on our Signature Kingsize Nylonstring Guitars (Modelo Joscho Stephan and Modelo Kai Heumann) from which we blend in. On his Steelstring I think he uses an Highlander Pickup. Have a nice day, Kai
Why your rythem is so great
와우~~~!
3:34 some pink panther!!
Great stuff. Btw, Kai looks alot like Mel Smith!
3:32 pink panther
Oh, what about that fill just after 0:38 ?
Yeah, that was sweet and not too much, like a lot of the other stuff
WoW
Did Kai's string break or is that a part of the act! :)
that's the wire from the mic
Instantly thought this was Tenacious D.
Hahahahahah same here ✋
Thank you .... József Kozma was Hungarian :-)
As much as Franz Liszt was - geniuses belong to the whole human comunity
To me, he's the best EVER
Guauuuuu
Kn hell ripped it 👍👍👍
What pickup is Joscho using, it sounds natural.
Nigel Thomas a Piezo Pickup i think
If that's a piezo, it's unlike any piezo I've ever heard in my life, and I need it.
Suspect it's more than 1 microphone, but I don't know
I don’t know who is the World’s Best Guitarist, but it’s hard to argue that Joscho isn’t.
Nobody touches stephon
なんだ😲メガネの人!
who disliked this O_o?
Amazing stuff, but a bit of an assault on the senses!
That was a little much for autumn leaves
Paris Foster it's a damn windy autumn
Grandad Brown from Mrs. Brown's boys plays a mean guitar. haha
Coughing in the audience during a performance? Fine... But blowing your nose?!
枯れ葉だな
膜拜大神
@@Jukainari 我也不
An absurd player this Joscho guy - is there such a thing as too good? - saying that he's not as good as Sylvain Luc.
No doubt, Joscho is a top player, but Sylvain Luc and Bireli Lagrene are musically miles ahead.
@@singsang9460 lol
joscho come ti odio musicalmente ciao tony
A melody line (or a solo for that matter) is not mere calisthenics. Most of this was a "Look at me; I'm FAST" exercise.
Let me guess you can't play fast?
If you work it out by percent, those moments are probably well in the minority. This criticism only ever seems to be levelled at guitarists, too. Funny that.
I don't think Joscho played fast, are you ears slow?
I have to agree to some extent. He is an amazing player and each time I hear him I am very impressed by his technique but it sometimes comes off as if he is practicing or playing memorized patterns. More about that then the song? Who knows. Even the accompaniment left little space for the other guitarist solo. That being said it could be what the audience wanted to hear.
That's a pity that this style most of the time becomes pure virtuosity and guitarism. It begins very well...it ends up in demonstration...
LACROIX Philippe then you don’t like gypsy guitar.
LACROIX Philippe Joscho is known for his hard driving gypsy style. If you don’t like his style, just listen to Django, pretty simple. Lots of people like both, including me.
@@TheCobraman45 You are right. I listen to Django, and each time I feel how the "sons" buried the "father"...
Moreover, Django played bebop at the end of his life. He probably was the only french musician of his generation who understood what the future would sound like.
Gypsy guitar wears virtuosity on its sleeve.
Too busy. Ruins the melody of this beautiful song.
