@@abedm3393 Interesting results Abed. If you did actually activate the recovered carbon black, even higher specific surface area would be expected and better adsorption properties. However, research at the University of Aveiro (Portugal) has shown that, depending on the activation agent, some of the carbon material is lost during activation.
@tonyfoxxbuilds1920 Yes, if you have a good recovered carbon black you could colour epoxy with it. But there is more than just milling to it. Please make sure that your pyrolysis process has finished driving off organic volatiles from the raw carbon residue in order to prevent toxic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons on its surface. The pyrolysis process needs sufficient temperature, residence time and mixing in order to achieve this.

Can this carbon back be used in a column for purifying biodiesel?
You need to test it for that .
I know it can absorb chlorine too from water. But I never did test on biodiesel.

up to 15 Microns size of the rCB powder , and 2 mm is size of the pellets
What can a diy person do with carbon black left over from tire pyrolysis?
Mill it ,and mix it with paint for colouring .
Also for colouring Epoxy resin. Give it dusty black or grey colour .
