  • The Philippine's longest and tallest Bridge is now open for motorists. The artistically designed major infrastructure project, and the newest iconic landmark of Metro Cebu, the Cebu Cordova Link Expressway is now open to the motoring public. The newly completed iconic toll bridge will be the 3rd bridge that link Cebu City mainland, to Cordova in Mactan Island. It has a span of 8.9 kilometers, making it the longest, and tallest constructed bridge in the Philippines.
    The 27-meter-wide bridge is meant to serve as an alternate route serving the Mactan Cebu International Airport, serving at least 50,000 vehicles daily. And has a design speed of 80-90 kilometers per hour. The 390-meter-long main span of the CC-Lex will be cable-stayed and will be supported by 145-meter-high twin tower pylons. The design of the pylons was inspired by the historic Magellan's Cross. The main span will have a 51 meters navigation clearance, which allows ships to traverse the bridge.
    The 390-meter-long main span of the CCLex will be cable-stayed and will be supported by 145-meter-high twin tower pylons. The design of the pylons was inspired by the historic Magellan's Cross. The main span will have a 51 meters navigation clearance, which allows ships to traverse the bridge. Inaugurated last April 27 in ceremonies led by President Rodrigo Duterte, and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation Chairman, Manuel Pangilinan.
    The expressway is a project of the CCLEC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the MPTC, in partnership with the Municipality of Cordova and the City of Cebu. It is seen to not only ease traffic congestion in the metro but also spark socio-economic development in the province.

    ILooking back 2016 when PRRD was elected and many oppositions to oust him, I have high hopes that he will perform his duty especially since he's been a Local Chief Executive for more than 20 yrs in Davao City, a Lawyer, a legislator, and an adviser/consultant who used to work under Pres. Macapagal-Arroyo. Now I can say that he did more than I expected of him and in my eyes, he never fail the mandate of the Filipino people when he was put into power. Because of his political will, the Philippines is now enjoying the progress he started and will now expect for the better Philippines in the future. Best president other than FEM.

    Sana pagandahin lahat ng daan sa Pilipinas. Ipatupad ng mahigpit and 3m-easement ng mga bahay, magprovide ng 2.5 meter wide na walkway at i-obliga ang pagre-repair ng mga bahay kahit once in two years katulad ng ginagawa sa US na kailangan magrepair ka ng bahay mo every year at sa ibang bansa. Actually income generating 'yun para sa lahat dahil dadami ang magpapa-repair at mangangailangan ng maraming materyales, syempre mas marami magkakatrabaho. Ipatupad din sa lahat ng ilog sa buong kapuluan na magpatupad ng easement ng 50-100 mula sa riverbank.

      Not enough space, its a central business hub so people flock here to work, and the city still needs more development. Its easy to feel cynical when you only focus on the main city, but Cebu actually has so many massive green areas all over the island.
      I explored the north once and I actually got sick of just seeing the same endless shade of green for hours.

    • @josedotph
      @josedotph Před 2 lety +3

      You're idea are of green parks but Cebu's hinterlands is a forest reserve. All you need to do is to hike the mountains or drive the transcentral highway. It's all natural green area where anyone can just stop by the road and have a little picnic.

      Actually trees are abundant all over the city. You just drive around and appreciate the city"s greenery. A good example is Osmena Blvd. You do not have to wonder why if you spread fake info, though it is neither a perfect ideal place nor comparable to any U.S. or European cities. I wonder why some netizens of that other city are so bitter and may claim that their city is like the cities in Europe.

Prevent Urban sprawl 2.) allow the growth of pedestrian friendly urban centers 3.) create green spaces for the public and emphasize the natural beauty of Cebu's nature 4.) decrease the dependence on cars and focus on development of convenient public transportation and 5.) There is no wastewater system that exist in the city. Human waste goes straight to the rivers and flows to the sea. All the landfills in Cebu are all filled. Thrash is thrown into the neighboring town.

    Good News!!! However our technical people involved in the designed and construction WHY? they do not include the DOLPHIN CONCRETE PROTECTION Barriers protecting the SUPERSTRUCTURES AND SUBSTRUCTURES MOST ESPECIALLY THE bridge COLUMN, for accidental collision of the ship that traverses under the bridge. Lesson learn PO TAYO on the collapse of Baltimore Bay Bridge

    Not siding on the Administration and the Anti-administration hah this was started by the Duterte administration but this is not owned by the government. The CCLEX is privately owned by Metropolitan Pacific Tollways which is the owner of NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX and CALAX. The people outhere sa Cebu siguro the first few months it may be free but time comes it will be having a toll fee. Pero it's good for the economy of Cebu to avoid traffics sa mga major city sa Cebu.

      @@luminaire9190 that nguyen always replies to ASEAN videos and mocks the Philippines, calling us names and mentioning pagpag and slums like it's the majority of the PH. He thinks he's downgrading the PH not knowing he's shaming his own country because he shows how rude and overproud vietnamese people are! I really feel sad for this NGUYEN 🥴
