    This is my first summer of doing astrophotography and I'm quite literally overwhelmed to figure out what to shoot. So many targets, so few clear nights! I can't wait for the planets to come up even earlier, I'm excited to image them the first time in my life. I don't have the right telescope for it but I will try regardless, because I have seen Jupiter years ago on a 500mm focal length , no problem. Also dont' forget, if you got patience and just before dawn, you can already capture the most awesome target of all: Andromeda Galaxy, rising on the NorthEast!

      Theres so many amazing targets to choose from. We know this is a tough technical hobby but its always worth it once you see that beautiful nebula or galaxy pop up on your screen. Just hang in there, keep learning, keep improving and everything will get much easier. We do hope our videos are helpful

    When you say 600mm - 800mm for a particular object is that with DSLR and lens or DSLR and telescope. From my understanding a 100mm telescope is 600mm to a DSLR lens.

    Hey Mack, I'm shocked you didn't recommend the Icaraus filter - especially since the thumbnail has you wearing shades and squirting the sunscreen 😜

  • @gregwesson
    @gregwesson Před 3 lety +1

    Any chance you can put the common designation for each of the objects so they can be referenced in Stellarium or Telescopius? The Wizard Nebula was tricky for me to find, but if "NGC 7380" was included on the title screen for that object it would have been easy to find.

    • @OPTTelescopes
      @OPTTelescopes  Před 3 lety

      Not sure if I'm understanding the question correctly, so forgive me if my answer isn't what you're looking for.
      There is a search button on the left hand side (the magnifying glass) You can type your targets in there, hit enter and can see where they are in the sky in Stellerium

    • @gregwesson
      @gregwesson Před 3 lety

      @@OPTTelescopes That does indeed work in Stellarium, but doesn't for Telescopius.com. I know it's splitting hairs, it's just that it would be helpful to include the M/IC/NGC/C designation as well as the popular common name. So for this example, "Wizard Nebula (NGC7380)" instead of just "Wizard Nebula" would be helpful.
