    After much frustration I installed the software and the driver. The qhyccd website so sucks! Don't bother to look for product support. There is none. No instructions come with the camera. My computer says usb device unknown when I plug the camera in my USB port. The software will not recognized the camera either. I installed the driver and software both on my windows 10 and windows 11 computers. I've read on forums the software is not compatible with windows 11. The pdf file you are directed to click on which I assume are instructions or the manual is blank. Maybe I got a defective unit. I'm returning it. Totally frustrating experience.

    i mean nice video, i have a Nikon D5600 with a 24.3 by 15.6~ sensor size in mm, and it can do 6k by 4k images. It costed me roughly 21K in our currency as of 2022. but an astro camera that does 4K is litterally 700K 😭 thats 21K of DOLAHS bro... is there a main difference of these? i personally dont really care about the infrared thingy.

    what happens if your focal length is too high?

  • @aerozg
    @aerozg Před měsícem

    Don't just hang a bag under your tripod and let it dangle freely. There is still some air movement at night and even a slight breeze can cause some vibrations and ruin your images. Slightly defocus your lens to get the nice and fat creamy star trails. Shoot at low ISO (like 400-800) to keep the colors in the stars. If you shoot at to high ISO all the startrails will be white. Shooting at lower ISO keeps the colors, you can still make them all white in post processing if that's your thing, but this way you get 2 options out of 1 imaging session. Shoot 30s exposures. And most importantly, shoot at least for 5-6+ hours if you want the best startrails possible. 2-3 hours is just going to look underwhelming. Ask me how i know.

  • @mchjubjub6915
    @mchjubjub6915 Před měsícem

    Explain with which lens you defocus as in my experience youre unlikely to be able to see the star like that with a 14-24mm. If polaris moves a little bit during exposure your trails will be blurred but your original statement that it doesnt move was correct. Georgia guidestones proved that. However its an interesting location.

    I just found out opt is closed permanently. That is a bummer. I was in scope sales there from 2006-2011, and the first person to ever dethrone Mike W as top salesman. The full end of an era, but when Craig sold the company was the beginning of the end, it just took over a decade to die. What did it in and when did it end? Covid? Shortages during covid? Maybe Wikipedia might have some info, im gonna check

    My problem has been getting the programs, and drivers to work on windows 11. I never had the problems I am having today with my old Mead cameras and my old windows 98, or was it 97, computer. All my old equipment got destroyed in a flood. I use ZWO cameras, and SVBony cameras now, vs Mead cameras before. I use SkyWatcher GEMs now, EQM-35PRO, AND EQ6 R PRO, vs Mead EQ 75. And a Windows 11 computer vs Windows 97. I sure would like to get the computers working before I get my observatory built.

    Thanks. Very clear. However, you skipped over a couple of things. Getting the adapter optimally seated in the mount. Focusing the Polemaster. Also, since the polar alignment with Polemaster is independent of Declination position, polar alignment can be repeated if the alignment gets bumped by just moving the RA.
