I love how he just feeds of other peoples laughter in a subtle way, just fuels his jokes but somehow seems to help him not crack a smile or even laugh when hes telling it.

@@sofiamirandadd basically he had just gotten a deal with netflix to do his four part special but netflix said he wasn't allowed to talk about it yet. But his manager didn't tell him that part so obviously he talked about it on camera. Then his manager gaslit him into thinking it was all his fault that he spilled the beans even though james literally didn't know he was supposed to keep it a secret. It ended up not being a big deal but I think his manager quit in a huff and made james feel horrible.

There are a lot of us Americans that love British humor and comedians. James Acaster has become one of my go-to comics (along with David Mitchell and Richard Ayoade)... :)
David and Richard are absolute gems.
I love Ayoade and James!! My favorite 2 British comedians.
I would put Sean Lock with Ayoade, Mitchell and Acaster. All unique styles but all amazing.
I forgot Joe Wilkinson. I personally don’t find David Mitchell or Sean Lock funny. In fact, I think Sean Lock is the very opposite of funny and often slides right into bitter, old intolerant a** territory.
Not American or British but I also love that trio... although James is my favorite !
James is seriously funny. He has the knack of saying the most unexpected thing that you wish you could've thought off at the right moment.

I remember this being on and the guy you hear laughing, is Clarke Peters who played Lestor Freeman in The Wire and was in Treme.
Brilliant actor, he seemed to take to James in this episode.

Mollie Gaden well.. here a good reason for u to try get some tickets. I’m praying that it goes on Netflix. It’s a very long story but he wasn’t meant to say about the Netflix deal just yet so his agent wasn’t happy. If you’ve read his book you’ll know 2016 was an awful year for james

Found James through mock the week a few years back, was so pumped to see his Netflix special. He’s killin it
James opened his Conan set with the “ready to eat apricots” joke, which is pretty ballsy since Americans do not refer to dried fruit as “ready to eat ___.”
Isn’t James’s Netflix special already out, or is he saying there’s more to come 😳 I’ve watched the first 4 at least 100 times, I’ve waited for new episodes for what feels like forever 🙌🏼

I just watched what I guess was James' first appearance on the Sunday Brunch (they were all dressed like Christmas) and it was awful. This was a way better interview. James seemed more comfortable, and the hosts seemed to actually be interested in their guest.
James deserves a much better platform than this...

His style of absurd humour is very appealing. One of the few British comedians with the scope to joke about something other than sex or the relationship between the sexes.

Idk what happened with conan. If you follow James you would know that everyone he talks to cant stop laughing, even if he's just saying normal stuff.

I think most times that American hosts invite British comedians, the audience is always bad and don't understand British humor. Once it gets online though, and a broader audience engages with the content, people who like the comedian will enjoy it regardless of the host
What's so hard to understand about james? He doens't have a very strong accent and he doesn't even talk fast.
