Lemon Mint Juice / Smoothie (mint lemonade) ليمون و نعنع

Lemon with mint: the typical drink in hot summer days here in the Middle East. So refreshing and so delicious.

Ingredients for 2 large glasses:
(to make the blended iced smoothie):
- ½ cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 4 cups ice cubes
- ½ cup water
(to make the juice):
- ½ cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 2 ½ cups cold water
Directions:
Place all the ingredients into the blender, and blend on high until smooth and mint leaves are very fine.
And enjoy!

thank you so much for your recipe! we just discovered this drink at a himalayan/northern indian restaurant here in mountain view, california (USA), where they call it "sarbat." I started looking up info and recipes the minute we got home, and your juice version seems the closest to what we had with our dinner. many of the other recipes I found use ginger, salt, and it seems, not quite as much mint as you do. our sarbat with dinner was also very green with all the pureed mint leaves.
tomorrow's project: get some mint and make your smoothie version ASAP!

Australia is about to go into Summer and this is the perfect drink to try. Especially since for the last three years we have been setting records for crazy heat waves. Last year we had set 11 out of 15 records - worldwide - for the hottest heat waves ever... and boy, didnt we feel it!?
