I use to Live in Kalamazoo. Yes sections of it are very haunted. there use to be a Hospital there by the lake she is talking about. before it closed it was a tuberculosis hospital. I had been in it close to 20 years ago ghost hunting. doors would slam for no reason. we heard the boiler running and didnt realize it at first as our minds are use to types of every day sounds. we only noticed it once it stopped making noise. it was crazy. the voices we heard and more. so Ya I bet every word of that persons story was true!

I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan. I grew up in the middle of the woods. One tiny story is that almost every night i fell asleep as a kid id hear kids play outside

Have you heard of the organic bread maker kismet farms. Same thing happened there, kids playing at like 3 am near then tent but you look around and see nothing. Orbs of lights if you lay down and stay silent but they left if you moved or acknowledged them. It was strange like the kids got abused and were afraid of people
So they avoided us unless we were sleeping basically

I swear its the lakes. Like in Appalachia its the mountains its the lakes in Michigan theyre attracted too.

As a Canadian who lives on one of the lakes, I’ve never experienced anything supernatural besides maybe once when I was young I woke up to something slamming on my bed abnormally fast and repeatedly, causing my leg to bounce. Never experienced anything else. We don’t live in the woods but quite close, there’s even a historical site down the road that’s surrounded by woods. I don’t think it’s attached to the lakes, I just think it’s Michigan being attached to the same land as the Appalachian mountains. I believe it’s possible the lakes cut off the energy from crossing over

I swear the lakes being Overtop of a salt mine isn't helpful. It's a well known state for mining copper platinum vanadium silver cobalt nickel. All super conductive and in high concentrations in our yard. There is a piece of granite under us 20 foot thick or so and about the size of 5 acres. It shows up as a blank spot on every service map by every provider I've looked up. They have outage maps that detail geological disturbances such as bodies of water or mineral rich land that bounces the signal back so heavily they say that section of the map is blank no signal able to leave

I think it has to do with the salt mines under the lake being connected to the copper silver platinum and palladium mines . Like a big network of conductive material making certain areas like a big seive for weird activities

The reason you are hearing stories like this in places that it "feels" like they shouldn't exist is because there is no veil left. This will become more and more commonplace and it isn't going anywhere. It won't always be superstitions either, it all will eventually be reality.

Oh crap, so what you’re saying is that once that veil is gone, those creatures will exist in our physical realm?
