I have zero taoforged shards and the bile requirement to move them makes me cry. It makes sense thematically because bile is a corrosive substance, but I still hate it. Also to answer your question at the end, Helminth 100% beats Grendel. But Grendel is still pretty good.
It makes... Sense?... Nah, since it can corrode, it should have a 5 (50, 75 or so? :D) of that shard being DESTROYED because of the corrosive power of the bile and the hating power of the totality of the warframe community. It should also damage the warframe, as you are applying a high and dense corrosive substance on it. Bruh.

Also corrosive stuff are not always that dangerous, in real life just your gut's ph is about 2-3 soo. bile is bile, bile is not neccessarily dangerous. bile is a green yellowish goo stuff that aids in digestion. I don't know about you, but you cannot even digest corn pieces, not to mention a freaking gigagalactic ultrasuper magic shard, just my opinion tho as someone with a chem technician. Maybe that it would have 1% chance to remove tauforged from warframe, but not the shard. but imagine being the 1% that would sk.

I think so far they’re ok, I do wish you could fuse normal ones into the tauforged ones, it would be nice to add another archon so you could cover some of the unused traits like range and efficiency, but over all at least acquiring them isn’t too terribly hard and they’re made to boost the frames you like not a necessary slot in for every frame.

I think the best way to add guaranteed tauforged shards is a reusable blueprint from Chipper that allows you to combine 4 shards (2 of the desired color and 1 each of the rest) to create a Tau-forged shard. It would still require you to do the weekly mission for at least 3 weeks in a row, and if you naturally got a Tau-forged shard than you can't get another one of that color until the next cycle. (Unless you stockpile some)

or just double down and keep sacrificing energy efficiency while boosting the energy you get with shards, my xaku is 155% dur 207% str 280% range and 45% efficiency
@@ToniFalck that is also a feasible way of going about it. I just tend to like efficiency a bit better so it doesn’t have issues with startup costs when not fighting enemies or if not enough enemies are around to get energy. Kinda reminds me of what I’m going to do to my Styanax, tanked the efficiency but going to put elemental ward (electric) and archon stretch on him so with rally point up as well he’ll be regenerating tons of energy to offset his efficiency decrease.

How about combine 3 basic shards to make a randomized luaforged if you chose three random shards or a 100% confirmed one of your desire if you put 3 of that color into combining
Why make it random? 3 of the same type to get a guranteed tau forged of that kind 3 normal blue = 1 tau forged As well as a monthly fight against pazul for a guranteed super shard can can be turned into the tau version of any shard you want once and for all

my only problem is the red shard should just have all of the ability modifiers. none of these shards should effect the performance of anything but the warframe itself, not weapons. The orange shard also only has like 2 or 3 actually useful effects. the rest should be replaced. there should be one that atleast gives a small amount of energy regen like a build in energy siphon.
I don't agree, somewhat... Because I do understand maybe why... Zenurik already creates a well pool of energy unless you aren't using that specific focus tree, you have arcane energize as well. A built in type energy siphon just isn't needed *unless* you're talking about being able to replace that arcane and focus tree for another one for variety and for different builds, which is my thought. And unless DE makes a similar effect like the 5 health Regen shard stat then it maybe not matter... Remember arcane energize was stupid overpowered before it received a fat nerf... I could just see people using arcane energize with a 5 energy Regen and zenurik... Probably give you infinite energy.
Full on agree. DE even said: "These will allow you to directly upgrade your Warframe's stats." So to toss in crap like Crit, Status, Parkour.... It's like....uh where is that an actual stat? (It isn't.)
Reds are good for stat sticks and exalted weapons at least. Also I would really like to have shards that regen energy even through drain abilities. Even if it's like .5 energy or something abysmal I will literally slot all five into things like ivara and titania just so I can have those drain abilities permanently active without needing to worry about getting energy from orbs

But atleast they effect the frame and are consistent in their effect. The Weapons % crap will vary from weapon to weapon. So it's a good upgrade for Weapon A but waste of a Shard slot for Weapon B. Impo that's a flawed development system there. Same goes for health and energy Orbs. Unless DE reworks them to be % based... (Orb restores uh...25% of your max health & energy or something) ...they're not worth what could be more armor, str, etc.
I've gotten two Tauforged Shards, one Crimson and Azure, and my current idea for them goes like this. Three normal shards of whatever that fits the Frame, two Tauforged on the far slots.
Upgrading shard ideas, if that were to become a thing; Best case scenario, I feel like we should be able to get is being allowed to use Endo, Kuva, or a helminth resource to upgrade a shard to tauforged. Worst case, we have to combine two of the same shard to get a tauforged. Hopefully as long as it isn't a real-money sink.

The only one I actually enjoy is Arbis, where you get squads that barely go twenty minutes, or no squad at all. I find it much easier to farm Kuva.
i like this idea, using resources you can buy/acquire from doing SP and Arbitrations would be nice. u do hit a point where you have a million endo and can get basically endless Kuva with nothing to really use it for. octavia prime and arbitration survival just kind of breaks the game.
the most annoying thing is that they are not persistent for everyone like mods. you need to do all the tedious helminth resource sinks that for experienced players do not actually matter. now this wouldnt be such a problem except... the entire system is exactly for experienced players. the resources dont matter, inconvenience does.
I believe I have 4 Archon shards so far, 3 of which are Tauforged. Depending how my luck goes in the near future, I will either crash back down to reality, or start to smugly look down on everyone else. We'll see.

we should keep giving DE feedback like this. I hope they take a look at and add some improvements to the archon shard system when Echoes of Veilbreaker eventually drops. Overall I like the Archon Shard system, but I agree it could use a few tweaks and hopefully they're added with the update.
Everyone keeps complaining about bile but idk why. I have like 5 different stockpiles of resources for bile. Its pheromones I hate as I have to micromanage it.

A kuva like mechanic to attempt to reforge an archon shard would be nice. 20% chance to upgrade, 30% chance to upgrade, 40% ext. until it becomes tauforged would be cool. Like rolling a riven.

Oh, and I never got another tauforged... And why does it need so much bile to remove!? I don't have enough bile resources to keep up!

I haven't played since Liches were first released (I still remember the horrors), and everytime i check in on the game, it seems like they're adding crazy ass systems and mechanics that look so segmented and disconnected from everything else...
I really like the archon shard system because in the game with 50 different and unique warframe I am pushing myself weeks behinds by wanting to experiment with different shard combos on different frames instead of just focusing on 1 or two at a time. With I system that brings so much power to frames and is so damn limited in access, it only further encourages the use of jack of all trade frames and discourages investing shards into some of the more niche frames.
I actually got 2 Tauforged shards on the first two Archons but I didn't get to on the 3rd, I was really hoping to get a 3 Tauforged on release but DE said no
I uh ran it my first time on stream and got a tau shard. I was kinda bummed since thought it was a crappy common drop. Didn't read up on anything when I came back to warframe from a long break. I wanted to be surprised with blinders on by new content... Boy did I get corrected on stream and later on in DMs.
I've only got one Tauforged Shard, and it's a Crimson. I'd like to see a system to upgrade Shards, like using a x amount of shards and Helminth resources to make Tauforged. It would give players a reason to farm multiple Shards besides gambling for that 25% drop chance Update: I now have 2
Jokes on you i got 1 tauforged version of each shard. But in all seriousness a pazuul fight would be cool but i assume they’re saving that for a quest, most likely the reward for killing him is a shard that just can be any of the other shards, like a wildcard requiem mod
I managed to get 2 Tau forged somehow lol. Don't be envious of my luck though, it usually takes me around 30-40 relic runs to get a single gold part even when I run most of them radiant and it took me 150 rolls to get a somewhat decent Dual Keres riven that still has neg combo duration on it, it's about time I luck out.
I haven’t got any shards period. I don’t even have steel path unlocked. Mostly because the nodes I need are defection and interception. And the nodes I need are always empty. I actually haven’t even unlocked the helminth
Despite getting 3 tauforged shards, (One of each, which is kinda funny to me) I still wish there was a more consistent way to get those tauforged, as I feel guilty when I mention it to my less fortunate friends. Wonder if making these shards tradable would be a cool idea; plat for those who don’t feel like messing with the system, and shards for us who do.
Wait a second, there is a chance you won't get anchor shard? The first one I got was Tauforged blue one and I so far I got shard for every hunt completed.
I feel like I was blessed by rngesus because my first and third shard were both tauforged Granted I use them to add more survivability onto an outdated frame with nothing going for it except base armor but who cares about that

I saw what Helminth can do to Kavats. That sloppy toppy is unmatched.
Use void gel orbs from the zariman, it's not a rare resource at all and it's rarely used in anything.

Amber IMO is one of the best shards for Energy and Casting Speed.

I just saw the tauforged yellow shard. 75% extra energy from orbs. You need just 1 for a playstyle change

I haven't played since Liches were first released (I still remember the horrors), and everytime i check in on the game, it seems like they're adding crazy ass systems and mechanics that look so segmented and disconnected from everything else...
I really like the archon shard system because in the game with 50 different and unique warframe I am pushing myself weeks behinds by wanting to experiment with different shard combos on different frames instead of just focusing on 1 or two at a time.
With I system that brings so much power to frames and is so damn limited in access, it only further encourages the use of jack of all trade frames and discourages investing shards into some of the more niche frames.

I got 1 forged shard from my first archon... which I promptly shoves into inaros for armor. So far I hit around 2k with everything and guardian.

I actually got 2 Tauforged shards on the first two Archons but I didn't get to on the 3rd, I was really hoping to get a 3 Tauforged on release but DE said no
I uh ran it my first time on stream and got a tau shard. I was kinda bummed since thought it was a crappy common drop. Didn't read up on anything when I came back to warframe from a long break. I wanted to be surprised with blinders on by new content... Boy did I get corrected on stream and later on in DMs.

I've only got one Tauforged Shard, and it's a Crimson. I'd like to see a system to upgrade Shards, like using a x amount of shards and Helminth resources to make Tauforged. It would give players a reason to farm multiple Shards besides gambling for that 25% drop chance

Jokes on you i got 1 tauforged version of each shard. But in all seriousness a pazuul fight would be cool but i assume they’re saving that for a quest, most likely the reward for killing him is a shard that just can be any of the other shards, like a wildcard requiem mod

I managed to get 2 Tau forged somehow lol. Don't be envious of my luck though, it usually takes me around 30-40 relic runs to get a single gold part even when I run most of them radiant and it took me 150 rolls to get a somewhat decent Dual Keres riven that still has neg combo duration on it, it's about time I luck out.
I haven’t got any shards period. I don’t even have steel path unlocked. Mostly because the nodes I need are defection and interception. And the nodes I need are always empty. I actually haven’t even unlocked the helminth

I only did the hunts I got 4 shards, 1 normal of each color and a blue tauforged
2 tau shards for me, red and gold. none of the boreal ones got tau upgraded.

i have 3 normal archon shards (2 Red shards & 1 amber shard) then the incredibly lucky 1 tauforged shard (IT WAS MY FIRST AZURE SHARD FROM BOREAL.)

Despite getting 3 tauforged shards, (One of each, which is kinda funny to me) I still wish there was a more consistent way to get those tauforged, as I feel guilty when I mention it to my less fortunate friends.
Wonder if making these shards tradable would be a cool idea; plat for those who don’t feel like messing with the system, and shards for us who do.

Granted I use them to add more survivability onto an outdated frame with nothing going for it except base armor but who cares about that
