    I want to get another bike soon after being bikeless for a few years. I was torn between the Fz07, Fz09, Xsr700/900, Older Street triple 675, new Street triple 765, or a KTM 790 Duke.
    I'm looking for a naked bike that sounds good & has a good powerband, without being excessively fast or heavy (riding extremely fast gets old, and it's been out of my system now) but I also want it to be somewhat premium, which, although the Yamahas are amazing bikes, they are still cost-cutter bikes in some aspects that I just don't want to deal with.
    I just discovered this new Trident 660 after browsing rental bikes on riders-share. I've never heard of it before, but 600cc range bikes and in TRIPLE cylinder is right up my alley.
    So here I am watching your video. Glad you like it! And you're totally right about becoming obsessed with something and watching every video on it, haha! 😆
    Hello Trident 660! I can't wait to test ride you this spring! 🏍️

In Europe you can buy a very powerful bike. But if you don't have the right license the bike engine is detuned to a much lower state until the 2nd license is attained

    Also got mine brand new 2022 Trident 660, I pre-installed quickshifter and all the engine/ fork guards at dealership before taking it out. I am slowly growing on handle bar mirrors and that small wind plate on top of headlight. I am not very hesitant of chaning stock exaust, because of reasons you mentioned, the sound would be too loud? Atrack too much attention. What would be the level of sound if this exaust still had silencer?

    • @302bikelife
      @302bikelife  Před rokem

      I would say for what this bike is meant for (city riding & twisties), you don’t need a 1000. Even for more experienced riders it’s a very fun bike. The new Street Triple RS might give you the balance you may be looking for (between 660 & 1000). The color way is an aftermarket paint unfortunately it doesn’t come in red.

    I pre-ordered a 2022 Triumph 660, but when I saw that the new 2021 ducati monster plus had 3 different riding modes: Sport= full power 111hp, Touring =less power, and Urban=even less 75hp.

      It's the equivalent of Ducati's monster. Simple, easy to ride, smooth power, and reliable for commuting.

      @alvhix Před 8 měsíci

      And that doesn't mean that the bike is slow, actually it's so fast. We are talking about an 81 HP machine, perfect power for the street.
      More power will give faster accelerations but that's it, you won't ever use the full potential of the bike unless you go on a circuit.

      80 horse power a beginners bike? What about all the 125, 250 and 400 cc? I am riding since 30 years and before my first “big bike” I rode many years a 125 cc. The trident is definitely not a beginners bike.

    • @TheFatBeaRr
      @TheFatBeaRr Před 2 měsíci +1

      @302bikelife  Před rokem +1

      @@stephenoclarke8703 the MT07 is a great bike to be honest. A lot of torque and a lot of fun to ride. For me, I wanted something different and the Trident made sense and at a good price point. If you can get an MT07 at a reasonable price, I would hop on that deal. No issues so far with the Triumph at all.

  • @Fee.1
    @Fee.1 Před rokem +1

    I wish triumph had sold a RS version of this with the 675cc motor from the old daytona/street triple. I would’ve bought it day one. I was almost going to buy it anyway but it was a bit disappointing power and torque wise. There’s no excuse for the RS660 to beat a 660 triple’s Hp with a 660 twin, let alone for the 10 year old MT07 to outperform it.

    • @302bikelife
      @302bikelife  Před rokem

      Trident RS would be nice. Knowing triumph, they would just add rear Ohlins suspension, tweak the engine a bit and sell it as an RS

    • @Fee.1
      @Fee.1 Před rokem +1

      @@302bikelife that wouldn’t be enough in this bikes case imo unless they seriously resealed the motor. Plus the 675 doesn’t go in anything anymore and is an amazing motor that’s rare because it’s a proper 600cc supersport class motor. Ever since the move to the 765 Daytona/street triple the 675 is not used in anything, I don’t think they can afford to let it go unchanged with the GSX-8S & CB750 Hornet making 10hp less but with around 20 pounds less than the trident which weights the as the street triple moto 2, max torque is at the same but gearing and other details + the weight all add up….
      Interestingly the 660 motor is straight from the A2 compatible 660cc Street Triple S that makes 47hp in A2 form and 94hp in unrestricted form, which is only about 18hp down from the 765cc Street Triple R
      So theoretically if they at least put all the internals from that version into the trident 660 it will go from 80hp to 94 which instantly puts it at the head of the pack. Why they wouldn’t have at least offered a variant like this right away or even for 2022/23 version is beyond me

    • @rbattson7171

      Trident was brought in with newer riders in mind. And in that regard, it has plenty of shove. I,m experienced and I bought this bike, it's a great little thrasher. Re:the mt07, great engine, but it's chassis can't live the trident, when you push on. The trident is a step up, you play 'The Twisties' on that yammy, you will be on your A**e. 😅
