Today I try out a 2022 Trident 660 and give my thoughts. This bike is equipped with the factory quick shifter, oem bar end mirrors, and a PUIG windscreen.
Ive also had mine for about a month and I don't think there is a single thing I dislike about the bike. Needs an exhaust tho to release that triple sound
Agree with you. He's probably used to the choppy on/off throttle of his Z which can be misconstrued as "torquey". Triumph sets the standard for smooth throttle delivery which sometimes gets confused with "lack of torque." I mean shoot, the throttle on my Trident is smoother than on my Panigale!
Congrats, next steps, full system, dna air filter and a dnk tune ecu flash, thanks me later. I also have a trident and believe me when you do that your trident will be another motorcycle.
The z650 is the worst of the class. Get a Trident or Honda CB650 if you want mid torque that pulls all the way to redline or a Yamaha MT07 for Low/Mid torque that’s dips at high revs. Kawasaki is nowhere close to those 3.
Is this your top rated middleweight naked? How do you think it compares to the Japanese nakeds, and do you think you can justify the price difference with additional equipment?
If you’re looking for build quality, technology and smoothness I would put this bike at the top. Most fun factor bike would be the Yamaha mt07. Best in between bike in my opinion would be the Kawasaki z650. In biased to the kawi so take that as you will
@@812moto what if you throw in the f 900 R and the tuono 660? A spec'd out trident is pretty close to base models of those. I really am liking what I'm hearing on the Aprilia.
@@thevances5780 I have no experience with the aprilia or the f900r. I don’t think the f900 would be in the same class. Personally I would go for a rs660 over all of the bikes discussed in the class but price is key as well
@@812moto I would say putting the z at the top of this list is insanely high bias factor. lol It's an alright bike, but by just about any objective (and most subjective) measure it's somewhere in the middle of the pack. I don't think a list exists that stick the z in the top 3 or 4 of the class, and for many it's possibly the least desired bike in the field.
@@812moto yes im actually eyeing those two versys and tiger but since the tiger and the tridennt share the same engine might as well ... currently using a naked... its ok as long as i dont need to carry much stuff if i do im looking at those two
@@user-qj8td3zb2l at the time it was a z650 which has a lower seat, and the mt07 which both felt more punchy to me is what I meant to say I guess. The trident feels more linear with the power but doesn’t have that on tap torque the twins have.
Had mine now for almost a month. Love everything about it and the quick shift is a game changer.
I like the bike a lot. Makes me want a quick shifter on the z650 I own!

@@rwdconnor It definitely needs some more sound!
'Not very torquey'? He says, I can't agree with that. It's got a decent spread of torque and performance, I,m having a hoot on this bike.

Congratulations 🎊🎉
Whats with following that stars and stripes livery car, nearly ever shot its in front on you and you even followed it into the gas station?
how do you like it compare to z650? Should someone who wants to buy a 650 class get Trident over z650?
Different categories entirely, trident is way above the z650
The z650 is the worst of the class.

Light n day better. Borrowed a Z650 for a few hours before test driving a Trident. So smooth, nimble and fun. The Trident that is.
Not very torquey??? WHAT?? I have one and it is pretty great on torque!
When you’ve ridden the Yamaha you’ll agree with me! Much more punch 🤜
The Yam has horrible mapping!

@@shaun374 depends on what you are looking for. But it is an all around balanced bike that lacks the character of the other bikes discussed.
Man idk if i want this, cb650r or z900
Personally I would go for the z900. But it’s in a bit higher category than this and the 650
@@812moto you think it's manageable in rain mode?
I think it is to small for me , i have 1.95 m :(
what kind of windscreen is that?
Puig after marketing wind screen
Yes it is the PUIG
i have the same exact . . . helmet 😐 i hear the tiger 660 has more sporty tuning than that but can you compare the trident to a versys
The tiger would be more comparable to the versys. Trident is the naked street bike and tiger is the more touring oriented bike.

Not a fan of the tank in this one. Leaves barely any room. I like to be sitting back from the tank not on it
It is a pretty skinny tank to start with. And the sides have cutouts making it even more narrow
You give the impression you know nowt about the bike
Yep, it was a first ride and impressions, not a review!
@812moto so you thought a 805mm seat was high.
Or it lacked torque.
What do you normally ride?
