    Had a 3 point tear near the hem of a long summer dress that got caught under a drive wheel of my powered wheelchair. The most expensive dress I own, bought new for $100 about 2 years ago. With the help of this video, from more than a few inches away, you cannot even tell it was mended. Not even the print shows it. I have to look on the inside of the dress to see the mend.
    I am 71 but a total amateur at sewing. I just used the supplies from my late mother's sewing box. I found an exact color match thread too. Thank you very much for taking the time to post this video.

    Ty for a great tutorial, really clear and easy to see what you're doing I just wanted to mention, when you said centimeter, it looked more like 1 or 1.5 millimeters. I don't mean to be rude, the reason I say it is because one time I followed a recipe on CZcams and the person said to put a Tbsp of salt and quickly put it in so I couldn't really tell it was a tsp, I remember slowly putting it in thinking it seems like way too much salt and it was, I went back and slowed down the video to make sure and it was definitely a Tsp lol but she said Tbsp so I did it 🤦‍♀️☺️

      If your mother's yelling at you for the damage a moth did to your clothing you need to seek counseling. That's not normal.

    I noticed you double the thread instead of single thread - do you have to or can you just use single thread for the stitching??

    The square tear is sewn on the L back because the L is on the right?

      Something people will do to knot the thread would be to pierce through to the side that isn’t seen when worn. Then pick up some fabric as though you were going to make another stitch. DO NOT PULL THROUGH. Wrap your thread around the needle point 3-5 times, THEN pull through. Make an additional normal knot by your first one if more security is wanted, then trim the thread

      Nor how to fix the new problem. The puckering fabric 😂

    • @alicepen
      @alicepen Před 4 měsíci

      oof, yeah. That always comes down to trial and error since each instance is gonna be different x_x
      ~Edit with solution~
      When I said as though you’d make a stitch, I assumed the amount of fabric picked up would be small. It should be a small amount of fabric on your needle, 1/8 inch at most. That shouldn’t cause too big a pucker on most projects
