I got the same gpu gigabyte 1660 super. I dunno the thickness of the thermal pad. I see in the internet some people said 2 for memory 1.5 for vrm and the other people said 1.5 for memory 2 for vrm. Please help i dunno wut to do
I have this gpu .. but when I play warzone the temp going to 70 to 80 I dont know if this is a normal temp .. then after that my fps it's play to 50 to 60 fps only but when I first install my gpu my fps they going 90 to 100 plus fps .. idunno what happen
80C is high. Try checking the airflow of your case first before disassembling the GPU. You can temporarily remove the side panel. If it is still high, you might have to disassemble and check for the thermal paste and pads. GPU may be throttling because of high temp.
It depends on the usage and the environment. Personally I do superficial cleaning every month dusting. You can notice it if your temps are getting higher than normal. You may reapply thermal paste and pads if needed.
@@covidbryant6412 well bro let me tell you what happened so far, i got thermal problems wend gaming before changin the pads, wend I was gaming the card turn of and fan spins at 100% thats way i changed thermal pads. but its doing the same thing after 2 days or so, i think someting is going on with the gpu
What temps were u getting before and after cleaning?
What was ur temp after cleaning
Thanks, this video help me to replace the paste on my gpu, its 1660 normal, and now the temps are 70-75 when gaming (before the gpu reach 90!)
Great temp improvement.
This gigabyte variant gets freaking hot compared to other brands like msi and asus. I have undervolted mine just to keep temps low
Thank you for this! Unfortunately I’m out of thermal paste :0
What brand did you use?
You're welcome. I use arctic MX-4

You can measure the existing pads using a Vernier caliper or measure the gap between the heatsink and VRM/memory using a feeler gauge.
Hello. Can I change only the paste and not the thermal pads?
yes you can

hello did you saw difference on temps after that ?
yes it does. when I opened this GPU thermal compound on the core was already dried up
Around how many degrees of change? Thanks
@@covidbryant6412 hotspot less than 70 and core at about 62 C under load
@@ebongpc2137 great temps. hope mine improves once I receive the thermal paste I ordered. Thanks

I do not recommend purchasing this card model from Gigabyte because they have garbage cooling
how many millimeters of thermal pad?
1.5mm on memory modules and 2mm on VRMs
