Thank you for all the support and comments over the last few days it's been quite an overwhelming experience.
Could you please do an explanation on Loki from Norse Mythology?
Mythology & Fiction Explained no problem, I've been wanting to get back to my love of mythology and I found your channel. You have done some amazing work
Mythology & Fiction Explained what is the name of the song you played in this vid!?
Mythology & Fiction Explained .
You're doing an amazing job thank you for all the wonderful stories
can you do a video of KEK ???
What's funny is that when you mentioned Sobek being considered sexual or with an uncontrollable sex drive, I remembered a fact that said that crocodiles/alligators are permanently erect.
Crocodile: "Why am I angry and horny ALL THE TIME!?!?!"
Wha???? 😆 I'll be damned! Talk about a horny toad lol
They also have two penises.
haha are you serious? i didnt know that. ive heard bonobos are HIGHLY sexual. they jsut like to fuck everything
Holy crap, you're right
I've always thought Egyptian mythology was interesting but never knew hardly anything about it and now every single God I learn about becomes my favorite but I'm honestly leaning towards Bastet because she seems so cool (and I also love cats).
She's a protector, a warrior and very kind and playful. And let's not forget that any crime against a cat is a crime against Bastet and you'll die excruciatingly because of it.
Beset is Catwoman's ancestor or inspiration!!! I've got a house full of cats. Who doesn't love a furball!!!
I think you might also like Nephthys. She’s also a goddess of protection and is always portrayed with big colorful wings. I like Bastet too. Good choice 💜🖤
What? but if a cat is wild n steals ur food n scratches kids u should?
Norse is still my favorite
Maybe cuz i was a hindu before
Wierd choice, but my favorite is Set. Not for the brother killing part, although as the under appreciate one of my two brothers I understand, but for his duty as the protector of Ra. I love the image of him leaping down with a firery spear and fight Apophis like a badass.
"The idea of a giant crocodile god was the best thing ever."
I like this one. He understands.
🐊🐊🐊
I've always liked Sobek, because he's a giant Crocodile God that's a force of nature, like a Kaiju
Godzilla
@imma_dipshit _and_then
Godzilla is a crocodile. The animal your thinking of is a mosasaur and he's not one of them because they aren't amphibious like Godzilla is.
@imma_dipshit _and_then
No it isn't. A mosasaur is the closest thing to a "sea lizard" that ever existed and like I said above Godzilla couldn't be one of those because they are aquatic and not amphibious. You should be more specific with what you're trying to describe.
Do you even know what the difference between aquatic and amphibious is?
@imma_dipshit _and_then
Marine iquanas aren't ancient enough to be Godzilla. You just say that because that was the origin used in the shitty 1998 American godzilla movie.
Also Godzilla can't be a lizard due to the anatomy his skull.
Godzilla is a crocodile. Get over it.
@@Myusernamerulez Godzilla is a dinosaur not a crocodile so you're both wrong.
YOURE PLAYING WITH THE BIG BOYS NOW!
This reminded me of the Prince of Egypt
I main him in SMITE

"By the might of Horus, you will kneel before us..." One of the best movies made!
Carl Suga YESSS!
"Kneeeeel to us Pandora's poooweeeer."
I am now into Egyptian mythology and after learning more about Sobek I can defiantly see him as a strict, aggressive, and yet well meaning god. I can see the effort he puts into giving life to the Egyptians
Bird's head on a crocodile's body?
Switch it around and you've got a dinosaur!
Nice observation...
Birds are dinosaurs. I’d say the bird head makes more sense.
@@rotodexthepaleontologist2267 not necessarily they are missing links from reptiles to birds, stop this black and white nonsense pls.
Bo Carriere
Huh? No. Birds are in the Clade Avialae which belongs to the Clade coelurosauria which belongs to the Clade theropoda which belongs to the Clade Dinosauria therefore birds are dinosaurs. Do your own research before talking about “black and white nonsense”.
@@rotodexthepaleontologist2267 My point still stands, which is meaning missing links about it because they have similarities to there reptilian ancestors like having skin or scales or even scutes. And because avian and non avian dinosaurs with scales covered feathers or non and just scales. And secondly why you being a jerk?, don't be a jerk, it's not cool.
I love sobek and I have shrine dedicated to him. Loved the video, one of the best I've seen regarding him.
🐊🐊🐊
My uncle and cousins lived in Egypt years ago. While living there, they actually had 2 pet crocodiles for a while.
"I am the lord of semen"
- Sobek when he was talking about how human he is
Amen
My daughter and I love your videos.
@Petru Cristian Negrea who hurt you?

Asada Jones So fuck off
One of the things I learned real quick when I got interested into Egyptian Mythology a while back. Also with Greek and Norse. Is that all the gods for the most part are usually nether good nor evil. For me I’ve always felt that the Egyptian gods usually stuck to their duties with few actually trying to increase their power for their own means. Greek was basically a large party with Zeus boning everyone. Then Norse was basically Oden trying to prevent Ragnorok and is death by using any mean necessary to do so, though it was inevitable in the end.
The Ancient Egypt gods do take their duties seriously.
Gow
You pretty much nailed it there, no pun intended considering the Zeus part lol.
To be fair, by binding Fenrir and throwing Jormungandr into the ocean, he wasn't really doing much to stop Ragnarok.
@@HuyGia-wp5tx which is why they were respected and feared, the type of fear that comes from respect
Killer Croc is a son of Sobek! That would actually be a really cool story arc
Kenzi Henderson jgfcgk
Ongeziwe Nomkuca What is jgfcgk?
I would pay to see this.
Great grea great great grandson
I was just going to say that
well, killer croc's ancestor.
razor edge their my ancestor's to
alright......
just don't bite my ass.
i'm skinny like a twig.........
and still value my life......... T^T
razor edge he should start calling himself king Sobek
dude, he's a god and owner of the nile river.
what the point calling him king?
he's already a lord.
Lol
Simple minded caucasians...
Greek, Egyptian, Norse, Chinese, and Japanese lore are all well circulated these days, it's almost impossible to go through popular media without tripping over several references or reimaginings of characters or aspects of those mythologies. Celtic lore isn't really explored that often, despite being quite distinct and impressive when compared to other myths, and by extentention Irish lore gets very much the same treatment.
How about some Celtic mythology or Irish lore for a future project. I'll even help you out with a starting point, in Irish lore, the otter is a nearly invincible warrior, wouldn't that be an interesting subject to examine? Especially when comparing it to deptictions of otters in other cultures.
He actually done a number of videos on Celtic lore. And about popular media there are that one anime (that I known of that touch on Celtic lore and the series) just search up Lord Cernuno appeared anime and you see it. Hail to the ancient gods
I've always said Hindu mythology would be amazing series for Hollywood but "many" would find issues and it would fall apart just as fast as it started.
I've always thought of making an Open-World dark fantasy game based in Celtic Myth. You'd play as a Revenant who has to find the cukt that killed him, with an underlying mystery of if you were brought back through rage or another's magic.
Loki killed an otter with a stone.
Along with that I would love to see the Assyrian Gods be represented as well, along with the Annunaki of the Sumerians
This is one of the best channels on CZcams. I love mythology and I cannot say how much I love explanations of it. Keep up the amazing work!
you do a great job, explaining the backrounds of the different gods and also you have nice voice to listen too.
i have always liked greek and egyptian gods and stories, when i was younger and lost it out of my sight when i grew older, but by discovering your channel it was brought back to me. i very much enjoy watching your videos, keep it up!
Wow this is a cool video, great narration
I love hearing all the names that ive heard in Rick riordans books, it's so cool
Me too brother
Ancient Egypt has always been my favorite civilization! I’ve always liked Sobek, but my favorite is the goddess Nephthys. I’d absolutely LOVE if could do a video on her! I really enjoyed the way you portrayed Sobek and would love to hear your take on her. Great work as always! 💜🖤
recent subsriber i've been loving your content, as someone with vision loss who can no longer read easily this is an amazing find. I am making my way through all the videos keep up the great work, and thank you
How did you write this?
@@ahmadqazi2648 very slowly, haha i can see most things but anything with dense text and my eyes want to time out. I am legally blind but i can see pretty well, not allowed to drive but i can do pretty much all i need to without help. I've had 6 surgeries to get to this point and my glasses help. right now typing this my laptop is 5 inches from my face, otherwise if i try to type faster i make mistakes and that gets embarrassing.
@@jomolettman9258 I'm sorry. I mean no offence. Can I ask a few questions? How old are you?
How did this happen?
Were you born with it?
At what age did this onset?
What part of the world are you from?
Do you have a job and how well is it easy to do it in your society?
What religion were you born into and what fascinated you into Egyptian mythology?
@@ahmadqazi2648 no offense taken. I am 40 now, I was born in Jamaica, moved to the US in 89, my family are Anglican because of too much british influence. But if you ask me what my religion is i say somewhere between jewish and Rastafarian which are two sides of the same coin. Judaism is matrilineal so i claim that because my mothers parents are both descended from jews my maternal grandfather i do not know a whole lot about, just recently learned was also of jewish origin, he was not a father to my mother after conception so we never talk about it and it was just in passing she mentioned that little bit of info while we were discussing something else. the reason for the diabetic retinopathy was unchecked diabetes and years of unchecked blood pressure. i had very bad tooth pain because of an underbite that went unchecked. so after months of excruciating pain i went to the dr and he wouldn't do anything because of my high BP a couple months later i was seen at the teaching hospital where they prescribed very strong doses of ibuprofen, in that high a mg i should only have been on it a month max. my family physician prescribed it to me for a year and a half, i had found out years prior my kidney function was 40% the prolonged prescription knocked my kidneys down to 7% and my body was going haywire couldn't keep food down and i had suffered some losses in biz that stressed me out and my eyes became blurry because the capilaries in my eyes were bleeding constantly so it was a number of factors that got me to that point also i had moved to Ca. and kind of stopped taking meds testing blood sugar etc. I flew in to attend a funeral in Jamaica and could not see my mother when she came to pick me up even though the car was 20 yards away so she saw the weight loss and bad vision took me to the Dr who told me my kidneys were shot and sent me to the hospital to get leads put into my chest for dialysis. i was on dialysis until last august when after 32 false alarms, i actually got a kidney. I do not work it wasn't really an option i became a professional patient dialysis was 3 times a week 4.5 hours each treatment and the two days i didnt have dialysis i was going to other doctors and having eye surgeries etc. I have been reading since age two and read voraciously so not being able to read a book was devastating, lots of audiobooks now. so having a literary bent i love a good story so i'm interested in pretty much all mythologies, folktales, cryptids etc. I know its a long response i was trying to answer as much as possible,
@@jomolettman9258 I read it all. I'm glad you shared your story. I also write love reading about mythology and stories. I even write a few in my free time when I m not doing my college stuff.
There were a few versions of the creation of the Nile where the scholars claim it wasn't the sweat off Sobek's back. But let's just say (depending on which version you've read), Sobek or more likely Horus was feeling frisky, had little options, and fewer choices at the time. He "popped his cork" and the load that flowed became the Nile.
I recently found this Channel and instantly subscribed. I love the content very interesting ,well researched and well put together. Thanks man keep up the good work 😎
Thank you so much for the vids. They are really good to listen to when trying to clam down. I love your voice.

I enjoyed the video. It was informative, and well spoken. The artwork was impressive, and well played.
These are so great. One of my Circle sister posted this channel to us First Degree students. With each lesson we must do a " Deity Focus" on our choice. They expect quite an essay or report on them. And this channel helps a lot on some of them from different pantheons. Thank you and Blessed Be!
The story of the sons of horus wouldve been even more interesting if he had carried them in his mouth, like what mother crocs do with their babies when they go for their first swim to protect them. Maybe there is a version like that somewhere, but it wouldve shown again his more animalistic nature. Great video ^.^
Fantastic video, i am new to your vids, but this one is really god. You present your info in a nice clear orderly manner. Furthermore, you also add in your own thoughts that you make sure people know its your interpretation. Quality video. keep it up.
the best video of sobek i ever seen :) your channel is amazing. thank you for such wonderful entertainment

Wonderful and insightful video! Sobek is one of my top favorite Egyptian deities and has always held a particular fascination for me. Previously being interested in Dinosaurs as a kid (crocodiles also), he stood out to me and I was astounded when I learned about the city dedicated to him also the sacred animals reared and worshipped within.
I'm enjoying this series!
Played AC Origins; was so impressed that now I am binging on these mythology videos
I didn’t study a lot of Egypt’s mythology but now I’m a little more interested. Like da video m8!
Being my first and one of many favorite gods of Egypt thank you for informing me of Sobek and can't wait to learn about Anubis

Oh and at last you showed Renekton from LoL one of my favorite champions. He is also a god in the game but it is described
as once peaceful and thoughtful now bloodthirsty for revenge.
Amazing video!
I did enjoy Renekton but I was more of a Nasus player sadly.
I’m terrified of Sobek due to an episode of a paranormal tv show. Some kid went to a museum and sobek followed the kid home and tormented him.
He's at my house I have security cam footage of him why what's he want why me he's always around 🤷♀️
Great channel!
I love your teachings
I did a presentation about the Nile river for a 6th grade social studies project and I saw how crocodiles were a big part of this and half the project was talking about crocodiles and Sobek or how influential the Nile was in Egypt. My teacher was very impressed
You’re awesome sir! Love your content! Could you cover some Norse deities, like Odin or Loki?
He is also one of my favorites, I keep a crocodile skull that I received as a gift👌 Sekhmet is my favorite though.

Dude I just love this channel I mean mythology all around and this God he kinda sounds like hades in terms of just not into people and other gods but in times of trouble he would help out in a fight

Great vid
I know a deceased Australian man who liked tackling crocs and would of loved to tackle this one XD
I wanna say i know nothing about mythology just a bit but listen to this man describing and tell the tales make me wanna listen to him.
Sobek will always be my favorite Egyptian God. I'm actually designing my bedroom to be a reptile based room with a few pieces dedicated to Sobek lol
Awesome video, liked and subbed.
Do you know what his abilities are
Trial of Sobek in Assassin's Creed Origins was the most difficult of the 3 Animus glitch God trials.
That sneaky renekton splash art in the end tho :D
The visuals, the narration, I can listen to this all day and never get tired. Great Job.
Please do Native American Mythology or Chinese please
You know all. I can confirm that these beings are real. For some time I'm getting healings and I've seen like 4 crocodiles around me. I thought they were enemies at first, but they really help out to get rid of negativity that was in my astral body. Now suddenly after questioning their true face and this video pops up. Isn't it amazing?
