Honestly you really need to check out the entire one hour long Operation: Mindcrime concept album. This is the very last song in a story worthy of being turned into a hollywood movie.
There were a select few vocalists from the metal era who possessed a voice that had that unbridled but absolutely controlled range, power, and vibrato. Speaking for those that were male, there were even fewer of them who also had "the effortless lion" in their voice, i.e. a definitive masculine quality that set them that much farther apart from all others. Of course there were the high hitters who could "shatter wine glasses" and who utilized thier natural tone type like Rob Halford, Ozzy, Dickinson. Definitely powerhouse vocalists, no doubt. But then you had those guys with that natural masculine punch in their voice in addition to the high note capabilities of perfection that was already there. There were probably less than about four of those guys who were reasonably well-known. Jeff Scott Soto, Ronnie James Dio...and Geoff Tate. Tate could go from a low baritone to an E5 instantly, and he proved it over and over on three or four albums. The guy was a simply monster vocalist. These few guys just raised the bar, they graduated the craft to another level altogether, and they have never been surpassed in it to my mind. Tate was incredible in his prime and this album is smack in the middle of it, in addition to being one of the greatest metal and THE greatest concept album ever. What an amazing effort by the whole band. Anyway, to me those 4 or 5 vocalists were the all time best of the best, and I have to say that IMO Tate was the lead dog of lead dogs... Number 1 greatest metal vocalist of all time. There. I said it. Dio is a very close second, and actually wins for longevity...Tate had lost much of his natural vocal power long before Dio passed away. New subscriber here. This is one of my personal fav QR songs, and I've been a fan of Tate/Degarmo era QR since Thier demo was released. '82 maybe? '83? Somewhere around there. Great reaction.
Yes, wonderful voice and the hole song was really good. Sometimes when people listen to Helloween with Kiske the first time they say it sounds like Queensryche because of the voices, but i think you can`t compare them.
When I first heard this song and vid (:. Everything about this song and band grabbed me and pulled me in (:. Jeff's voice super superior and the band was really killer (:. Then when I heard the Album Operation Mindcrime I was literally Blown Completely Away (:. The music and story telling was Masterpiece Personified (:. Then too make it better I got too see Queenryke open for Metallica and see them perform this music GREATNESS live on Metallica's Justice For All Tour in 1989 (:. Beyond Amazing Mind Blowing Concert both bands Ridiculously Good (:. Lol this song and album timeless masterpieces PERIOD (:
The comment about prop gun safety really hit me, considering what happened on Alec Baldwin's movie set this past week, and the person who lost her life due to what is being characterized as improper and unsafe use of a movie prop weapon. It's very sad.
I literally watched this video right now. And as Amber mentioned about being an actor and using a prop gun to fire. It's a sucks what happened to Alec Baldwin 2 days ago. A tragedy for sure but have to treat any gun as live which is sad and true. Awesome reaction though!

Absolutely a vey prophetic album that’s perhaps in many ways is more relevant today than when it was released
Great story telling
The instrumental quality of this great band with the typical male head voice sound as often in the eighties, I'll go a 9,3.
I Don't Believe In Love is a great power ballad by Queensryche (despite the title) for Charisse! :-)
We will add it to our list!
One of their best songs with Geoff Tate is worth 9.0 for me.
“ Jet City Woman” is a classic…
We will add it to our list!
Loved that gals. Great voice. Really cool guitar solo.
I'll go a 9 on this one
Geoff has a great voice and the song is really good.

Great reaction.
You really gotta hear the whole concept album because it tells a story. Epic album.
You can hear Geoff Tate also in Seduction of decay, by Avantasia
We will add it to our list!

Geoff Tate is the GOAT
Those chords on the 2nd verse are wicked..
Just a brilliant song all round! :-)
This is the video that launched Queensryche into the mainstream.
