Thanks for watching
Some of these tech tests are like build a whole application then they say "shouldn't take longer than an evening" - how do you know how much time to dedicate to a test? Some of these take days to complete and it's very heart breaking when you get standard rejection email and no feedback or even a talk with their engineers
Test should not take longer than couple of hours 4 max imo.
Also, always follow up with an interview where they explain their coding challenge. We hired a guy that had an amazing resume... and he did great on the coding challenge. Hired on, the onboarding process took a couple of weeks... and by week three, he was assigned some trivial things to start with. He couldn't even refactor a simple function, in Go, to update what parameters it used. It was VERY clear, that guy was not the one who did the coding challenge and that he 'fluffed' his resume.
This happens more than you think... especially now that there are AI tools to help them.
Thanks for the comment. You make a good point here. Thats why I leave a lot of room for questions. Asking the right questions is a task on its own.
