- The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta hosted a once in a lifetime event with the annular solar eclipse showing a complete ring of fire visible on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Thousands of people came out to balloon fiesta park to watch the event.
I spent the whole day at the fiesta, and experienced this unique celestial event for myself! Jim Cantore and the weather Channel crew were on site live streaming from the event. It was an exciting day!
Later that evening I enjoyed the spectacular display of the balloon glow that was my favorite event of the day!

Traveled from Erie Pa to knock the balloon festival off our bucket list . We were very fortunate to choose Oct. 11th for morning secession, perfect weather and all the balloons just hovered over the field. Chose the 13th for special shapes glow and again weather was perfect. Watched the eclipse from my cousins driveway. What a special experience, words cannot describe! This was well worth the expense!

We have been to a few balloon festivals around the country and have been in Albuquerque during their festival but have never actually attended it. I guess it's something we should do.

Thanks! It seems the number is limited to 600 balloons. somewhere around 500-600 balloons for the entirety of the festival. It's incredible!
