Well it got broke this year. A guy named alexander killed a typical with a green score of 235 they are pretty sure it going to be a new world record, this was also in Ohio. Regardless still a heck of a buck! Finally the hanson buck goes down!

Hunted in Ohio, never seen that in the rule book, never heard of that, and everyone I know brags about how early they get to their stand lol

Totally agree. “But compounds should?” Absolutely! Crossbows are fundamentally not bows in the same way a recurve, long, or compound bow is. They should have an asterisk or separate section, but I agree. Crossbows have somewhat gentrified bow hunting, but I’m sure real traditionalists will hate that statement too.

Our season runs from 8/15 to 1/1. We can get 5 buck tags and 8 doe tags. But don’t let me ruin your ignorant assumption that every state has similar regs to yours. My freezer and several others can attest that’s not even close to the truth. But I’m a bad hunter so what do I know right? Lol

@10inOfPureBBc did I say me? I said a neighbor. I start scouting my land on the border of Carrol and tuscarawas country close to Atwood lake in May to June range and cameras. I also don't bait mine my property has 2 3 acre fields that I have food plots on for them. It really helps out the deer growth in my local area . But this guy just submitted it like a month and half ago so no telling but it was pretty wacky and large . Me I just shot mine November 3rd and it was a solid 12 and 4.5 I don't shoot anything without careful consideration but thanks

What's wrong with a crossbow? My youngest shoots a crossbow because he doesn't have the arm strength yet for compound. I've used a crossbow at certain points in my life . I use a compound right now because it's a preference. But either one is a solid kill and more difficult then shooting any gun from twigs or things of that nature

I can somewhat agree with what you’re saying but what about the men that taught us how to hunt with compounds? My father for example taught me how to shoot a bow at a very young age and has had two rotator cuff surgeries, he now shoots a crossbow because he can’t draw the weight anymore. I do think there should be limits on people using them but, for the guys that really needs them and still wants to experience life in the woods…I have absolutely no problem with them. As for the folks that just wants an easy kill because they are too lazy to use a compound…….that’s a whole new story and we won’t get into that.
