@@myles3856 Amazing, that would be terrifying. I had an encounter in northern Ontario in the '90s. I didn't see it, but could hear it at night near my cabin, very remote area. It was tearing up trees, throwing huge rocks against trees, things that a bear or a person couldn't do, clearly trying to intimidate.

I really want someone to explain something to me. Twice in my life I have met people who have seen these creatures. The first back in about 85 was a lady in her 80s in the Basque region of Spain who described a creature the believed lived in the woods called a "Basajourn" which she had seen as a child. The second was a Cambodian farmer who had had several encounters with something they call a "Tak Tak". Both knew nothing of big foot or its description. Neither had Internet access or had read books yet both were undoubtedly describing the same thing. Both even made the same face when describing the stench. If it's a lie, a complete myth how do people who have no contact with each other all over the globe all through history describe the exact same physical and behavioral characteristics? What are the odds?

locals also werent as educated as they are now, was frontier living back then (this was before the area joined Canada in 1949) and today has only 30000ish for 113000 square miles (population then was maybe 22k), you lived near your trapline or near where you fished (there are towns along the coast but inland there's a half dozen total, and the one with 10000 people had just started up a half dozen years before). im a Michelin from the area, Traverspine (we say 'travis-pin') is a family trapline, there were many in the area but some are now submerged from when the Churchill Falls Hydro Project happened (i had great uncles lose traplines to it). So these people were mainly mixed settler/indigenous living in homesteads not towns (some cabin areas where people go to recreationally in the area are former homesteads and can have 3-5 cabins there but are really old houses, only get to them by boat or snowmobile today. My dad would trap and work as a heavy equipment operator at the nearby airbase plus summertimes would pack us up to fish atlantic salmon commercially (7 hour ride in a 19 -21 ft open boat on the lake going to the summer home). There can also be a mix of old indigenous stories mixed in.

0:47 at the time Labrador was a part of The Dominion Of Newfoundland, it was two more years before we would join Canada. Also im from the town where the footage of 0:00 - 0:06 comes from. As well, the family name Michelin (im one from the area you're discussing in the video, Traverspine (locals pronounce it 'travis-pin', btw) is pronounced as you hear it in any of the Michelin Tire advertisements. Traverspine was a family trapping area, as the main profession was fur trapping as opposed to fishing, although some would do both and sometimes have summer and winter homes for the two seasons (Hudson's Bay Company started my hometown of North West River as Ft Smith before the territory was signed to Great Britain from The French in the Treaty Of Paris. the Michelin family that i belong to came as voyageurs years before from what is now Trois Rivieres Quebec.

In California there was a pretty good sized mine that was closed down after one of the miners shot and kill one. Afterwards a band of Bigfoot surrounded their cookhouse and pelted it with huge rocks for about 20 minutes! The mine closed and the reason why is in the county records to this day. I believe it was near Jamestown, California. Many many strange things happened throughout the Motherload country.

Seems like you might beable to find stuff i have missed. So was wondering if maybe you can do a video on large snakes Encountered in British Columbia i haven't been able to find much info but appearently there was a Rothschild that was a explorer who went missing exploring The Congo. But shortly before he disappeared did some exploring in the back Mountains of British Columbia and encountered a giant Snake he described as a massive 20-30ft anaconda like Snake. Looking at BC there is a Possibility that creatures like this could exist without us noticing and adding the accounts of missing people and the ammout of unexplored land i feel like there would be allot more legends about such but haven't seen much besides river or lake Serpents.

You will not fine a snake over two feet long in canada. The temperature does not allow for them to grow properly.

~ 5:13 “Mrs. Michelin stormed out of the house, shotgun in hand [...] she fired a shot at the underbrush and heard a meaty thud” huh, I ain’t never heard shotgun shot make a thud sound when hitting anything, was she using slugs?? How far away was the beast at that point? In order to be able to distinguish between the report of the shotgun and the impact of her munitions, it would have had to have been a shot beyond 20 to 30 yards, and at that range, I don’t think you can hear shotgun pellets hitting “meat” haha. Maybe she had slugs. We can give her the benefit of the doubt. Just seems like an odd detail to add to the story

dunno what to say except im from the area and this was cousins of my dads family, and slugs were kept on hand for defense against bears etc while the man was gone on the traplines. Labrador women many times (back then) looked after the children while the men were on the fur trapping line, and would trade them to the Hudson's Bay Company in North West River. I have family who still fur trap here today, and sell off to North American as the agency handling furs now. many times in the summer the family would relocate to a summer home if their winter one was inland, and the summer home would be a Fishing station (dad's family would go to the coast near Rigolet to fish Atlantic Salmon or Indian Harbour for cod).

As a writer and avid CZcams watcher, I just got to say that switching back and forth from different speakers pulls away from the overall effect and presentation of the video imo.
If there is a cause for the switch, story change, mood change etc., then it might possibly work, yet the transitions should be smoother. I am speaking of 'flow' here, without sensitivities to the overall flow, most of the dialog, if not all is lost imo. It ends up being too distracting for the listener which in turn drains the overall effect of the content.

Narrator is AI for sure, anyone who has seen a commercial knows how to pronounce Michelin as well (and im from the area, we pronounce it like the commercials). Also local pronunciation of Traverspine is 'Travis-Pin', and its closer to the Mealy Mountains vs the Torngats which are much further north in Nunatsiavut (Traverspine is in more traditionally Innu lands, The Innu Nation are the local 'indian' nation and some are up into the north around the Torngat mountains).

they are all considered Inuit, same as Greenlanders and Yupik. Im of Nunatsiavut (inuit) in Labrador and extended family to the Mrs Michelin in the story. You just dont say 'inuit' because in Labrador the Inuit speak Inutitut (in Nunavut they speak Inuktitut). But we are the same people but of a different name, as we spread the language changed. Labrador Inuit have two dialects and one has 38 bravarian loan words, and the other is the Rigolet dialect which is pure but barely anyone is left who speaks it.
