he's right. i could NEVER trust a "reformed" trad wife. she's already displayed that she is capable of placing the needs of men above her own. if she is able to allow men to disrespect her to such a level, who's to say she wouldn't allow it to happen again and try to bring other women down with her?

@@nonaturalbornmalesallowedI feel like that's unfair. Most of us were not born aware; we had to wake up to men and the game. If a young woman was raised in that environment, she might not know better. I live in the deep south and I often talked to teenagers and young women who legit didn't know any better. Some of them could be reached; others had to suffer a bad marriage/partnership before they learned.

@@misspriss2482 I was gonna say the same thing. That’s an extremely unfair statement because majority of us women were under the patriarchy up until the decentering movement started blowing up and gaining traction a few years ago.
Majority of us are reformed pickme’s. So to say things like “Once a Pick me always a pick me” or “I don’t trust former trad wives” means they’re also talking about themselves because I’m pretty sure they too were victims of the patriarchy and were blinded by it throughout their lives.
It’s extremely disingenuous to say something like that.

This is not a fair take considering most women have had to do some unlearning in the most recent years. A lot of people were conditioned at a young age and if that’s all you know then that’s what you’re going to grow up to perpetuate. It’s not about trusting reformed trad waves rather than it’s about showing them how harmful their ideologies can be. It’s like saying you don’t trust victims that put up with abuse. It’s not about you.

I was brought up in a very liberal church that never dwelt on the Bible much. They focused on the ten commandments and love for your neighbor and basic things like that. It is these new American Fundamentalists that thankfully expose Christianity for what it is so those women may not realize what they are participating in, their own "mur*der".

I just had an insight! Whenever I don’t understand something that’s going on in politics or society, I turn to that trusty old maxim “Follow the Money”. First, I have to say I follow a lot of political news, so I know what’s going on there. Plus, when I was a teenager, I was very involved in a southern, very conservative (but it not quite evangelical, but close) church, so I know what kinds of things they do, too. So, my insight is…I’ll bet you anything that sometime in the near future it will turn out that the Tradwife Movement was actually started by some very conservative, probably evangelical MEN (like preachers) who also got their toady wives to go along with it to recruit young, married evangelical women to help these young women start their own podcasts about this Tradwife nonsense, and I’ll bet the men are buying all the video equipment and whatever else is involved in making a “successful” podcast, including her wardrobe and kitchen appliances and such for baking bread or whatever, which the young woman will be happy to be able to keep as payment. And they probably already have scripts ready for them to read. They might even be paying these young women something to do it (but I doubt it), or they’ll help out her husband to move up a level in the church which might help her too, but they’ll probably just convince her that it’s “for the glory of God”. Because the evangelicals are very vested in politics now, as it was the promise of their vote that got Trump elected, because he promised them to do whatever he could do to get Roe v. Wade (the right to abortion) overturned in exchange for their vote. And that’s why he puts on a big religious act, when he’s never cared at all about religion. It was all to become President. And now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned, they want to make contraceptives illegal too, and some preachers are even talking about taking away women’s right to vote! Evangelical women don’t care about women’s rights at all. So that’s my theory. I’m old enough to remember in the 70s when women were super close to getting the Equal Rights Amendment passed that Phyllis Schlafley, a very conservative, very religious and very rich woman decided to fight against it, because she knew with the ERA in the Constitution that Roe v. Wade would be overturned, even though, publicly, she used other excuses (like women would be drafted and we’d have to share public bathrooms with men), because people didn’t talk about abortion publicly back then. Granted, she wasn’t pushed to do it by the higher up men in her church or her husband, but she went around the country talking to groups of conservative, religious wifeys, and actually got them to bake cookies and loaves of bread to give to the (male) politicians in their districts and all over the country, including their state Senators and Representatives, and encourage them to vote against the Equal Rights Amendment, which they did. Which is why we STILL do not have the Equal Rights Amendment in the U.S. Constitution! So, remember that Roe v. Wade could NOT have been overturned if we had the Equal Rights Amendment in the Constitution, and it was all because of Phyllis Schlafley.
