    Looking at this video again as so many of the imported chairs seem to confuse customers and "4D" is a great example of trying to make a massage chair sound unusual compared to others. We've also seen some companies use heat as the 4D or music.... Agree with you that it is a bunch of "bo-lag-knee". Luraco chairs are high quality and we stick with the term 3D although all of our chairs have multiple speed adjustments, heat, Bluetooth, etc. NO MISLEADING MARKETING FROM AN AMERICAN COMPANY THAT SELLS THE ONLY AUTHORIZED MADE IN THE USA!
    If only there was less misleading marketing to help consumers understand the difference between high quality massage chairs and chairs that have high price-tags.

    I was told 4d mean there's a certain motion that could start slow and finishes withth faster motion or vice versa. Something that 3d chairs couldn't mimick just by dialing the speed unless you're do it constantly adjusting the speed back and forth the whole time.

    • @massagechairrelief

      That is one of the primary definitions that 4D has morphed into in the massage chair industry. The 4th dimension is really time, the other 3 being height, width, length/depth. Massage chair industry folks have added a 4th dimension as speed/rhythm. Whether that speed/rhythm change is automated in the program or adjusted manually from the remote control through the course of an auto or manual program, speed/rhythm is still the 4th dimension, as it pertains to massage chairs. A 3D chair with speed adjustment, be it automatic or manually adjusted, technically also has the 4th dimension. Thus, my assertion that 3D chairs with a speed adjustment also have a 4D component. I hope this makes sense. Here is some food for thought...if a 2D chair has speed/rhythm adjustment capability, is it to be considered a 3D or 4D chair?

    Well..calling the speed a new dimension is technically correct. In maths definition, a "dimension" is simply an aspect of the object that can't be represented by the orthogonal decomposition of other dimensions. But I agree that naming it 4D doesn't help consumers. Thanks for the clear explanation of what it actually is!

      In physics, 4th dimension is Time. So if you are able to control 4th dimension, you basically have a time machine.

    but isn't the speed adjustment worth it? Ie it acts like a massage where it slows down and speeds up rather than 1 uniform speed which feels robotic and also can cause more pain

    • @massagechairrelief
      @massagechairrelief  Před 3 lety

      Agreed, but to me the nomenclature/designation is confusing. If a 2D chair has a speed adjustment, then it would then be considered a 3D chair, which has a totally different meaning. My argument is that "4D" is more of a marketing term than a true representation across the board of what it really is.

      @@massagechairrelief ic. I got another question do you think the best massage chair pads are nearly as good as massage chairs? Massage chairs cost 10-15 times more and i don't think i can justify that cost

    • @massagechairrelief
      @massagechairrelief  Před 3 lety +1

      @@ninjaninja9954 The pad will massage your back, but I don' t think it compares to a full body massage chair in the least. But, if your budget only allows that, then that is better than nothing, for sure.

    Time is the 4th dimension, i think this might be the reason, based on speed they named 4d

    • @massagechairrelief
      @massagechairrelief  Před 2 lety

      My contention is that all chairs have a speed adjustment feature, whether they are 2D or 3D chairs. Does that make a 2D chair a 4D chair or a 3D chair if it has a speed adjustment. The nomenclature is not consistent. Even more recently, companies are calling certain chair models 5D and 6D if the chair has more than one set of rollers. It is all just marketing, in my honest opinion, and confusing to the customer.

    "4D" in my eyes is no different than "Premium;" It's just gimmick bait on a hook to reel in some suckers thinking their getting something with "high quality" (Ex: Premium vanilla Ice cream is just vanilla ice cream but twice the price.)

    • @massagechairrelief
      @massagechairrelief  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I feel much the same way. The concept of 3 dimensions and 4 dimensions (and even more dimensions!) has been convoluted over time.
