Most countries in that region rely on tourism and this can be an added industry. Further, too many in this region depend on imports and if they attempt to grow in the region instead, import bill can be reduced.

      I would imagine that you would have to live in mountainous area of Haiti to grow apples. Apples need a cooler climate to grow.

I mean I don't live near enough to the tropics and I would love to grow bananas, but the growing season is not long enough here. A guy in this area did grow some bananas but he had to have a way to keep the plant warm during the winter.

    My father used to grow fruits in Kenya from 1970s. ADC did a lot of projects in farming but corruption stagnanted these processes. Kenya is one of the blessed country where we grow from rice, wheat, fruits found in the northern hemisphere, you name it.

    Inspirational! In the past, we used to eat apples grown in South Africa until I saw a simple farmer growing them in the Eastern province of my native nation of Zambia. Congrats to the lady apple farmer & thanks for the video Wode Maya.

    This is not GMO, this is not apple that they spray it in the west. But this one is 💯 organic, when you eat it, you never get stomach cancer. As a Jamaican, my wife from Ghana, so we also has started fish farm in eastern part of Ghana. Thank you Maya for sharing this video with us 🌍🤜🏿🤛🏿
