    Eivor Pálsdóttir is so far more than just a folk singer, she studied jazz and opera but does also a bunch of pop music styles. She was Gavin Bryar´s choice for his marilyn forever opera ....

    Perfect to my ears. Surprisingly quite similar to our native sean nós in here at home in Éire. I deeply love the scale.

    Thanks for that. I've just checked Wikipedia and it says St Mary's Roman Catholic Church is situated in Tórshavn's park, the only forest in the archipelago. Also, it says there are approximately 130 Catholics throughout the islands, at least a third of whom are Faroese. I'm interested because i am a Catholic and i would like to live in the Faroe Islands.

    • @afpbrisbane
      @afpbrisbane Před 5 lety

      @@wastehazey6468 I would say due to the 7 candle stick holder at the centre of the alter, and the faded artwork that in its present state look like old Hebrew writing at the apex if you look closely at 4:08 Of course, needless to say, the candle stick holder is not a Jewish Menorah, which has 9 candlestick holders.

      The park in Tórshavn is technically a plantation. It's man-made.
      If memory serves me right, the only "natural forest" here on the islands is in Hvalvík and it consists of less than 10 trees.
