How to dry flowers fast using Wisedry silica gel crystals
Ingredients - wisedry silica gel crystals , assorted flowers, gloves , mask
Wisedry has taken the silica gel granules and created a product much better suited to drying flowers. The sand sized granules are easy to fit around each leaf and petal, giving perfect results, no marking or damage.
They sent us a bag to try - but we are under no obligation to say only good things. This was a first for us, and a good experience.
The silica was easy to use, it helps if you are an organised and tidy person, but the results were great!
We are looking forward to drying different flowers and seeing how they turn out - and of course creating some projects with the results.
This product can be used again and again, so we would recommend it - though if you buy one bag only, you might wish you had bought two to process more flowers in one session.

Thanks for this video! I’ve had preservative crystals in my craft room for many years and I forget to make use of them. Reminds me to use on my roses this summer.
What a brilliant idea John, thank you so much x
Thank you 😊
Thanks John - interesting concept - can’t wait to see what you create with these
Me too! Will keep adding different flowers to build up a collection to create some projects from 😀🌼
They look great. I ve enjoyed seeing how it worked, 🌿thanks
Thank you Carole 😀
Very nice good job
🙋🏼♀️
😍😍😍👍🏻
Quite interesting another way to preserve the flowers! thanks for sharing.
😊🦚🌺
.
Thank you 😊
Yes, it’s interesting - I’m going to try odd flowers as I have them 😀
🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
This is so inspiring! I'll probably never get around to trying it but it's fun watching you get so excited! I wonder how long the color lasts. I am so surprised at how great that turned out. I wonder what types of sprays could be used on them to hold them together for the long term or if anything could be used to spray on for different creative effects.
Thanks for this, John! Isn't wonderful what tools we have at hand today? I'm sure crafters will make great use of these crystals. I look forward to seeing how you treat these in the future! Happy Valentine's Day, by the way!
Happy Valentines day to you! Yes, things like this weren’t available before, and these are really popular with crafters for drying flowers to submerge in resin. Will be interesting to see how different flowers work and then how they last
Awesome
Very Nice!!
Thank you 😊
Thanks so much for this, John. I just might have to give this a try because I'm not very good at the air drying and hairspray technique! 😆
Thank you 😊 we can learn together - this opens up new possibilities 😀🌼
Ps, light coat of cheap hairspray helps some with protection from humidity & falling apart 🥰. Thanks John, I dry flowers like panicle hydrangeas every fall, just air dry, the spray...beautiful fall & winter arrangements 🥰. I once air dried belles of Ireland, hairsprayed, then gave them a light spray with a fine gold glitter spray...that was 3 years ago & I still have them on display in my living room atop my rolltop desk, which receives only north light...love them! Looking forward to future use videos 🤩
Thank you - and great suggestions! Air drying can give great results but les consistent. The fine gold spray touch would look good on the bells of Ireland 😀🌼
Do you apply hair spray before you air dry the flowers? Or air dry first then apply hair spray later? Thanks .
I air dry 1st, then apply the hair spray. After this is dried, then I apply the fine gold or silver craft spray, if I choose to use it for enhancement @@shellachuamd1226
The roses look great! I remember a while back you were using some roses that were dry and looked so alive in the video. These are similar video-wise, they look fresh! Thanks for this John. Great idea.
I found it--it was from 4 years ago--freeze dried start rose arrangement. I might even like your yellow ones better!
Happy Valentine's Day xoxoxo
@@lynnemcnab3093 thank you 😊 and to you, hope you had a great day!
Hi John, We are very sorry that the bag is broken and will send you a new one very soon. Thank you so much for sharing this video, and glad you like the drying result!
It was a tiny tiny gap in the inner bag - so really it is very sturdy and did well in shipment.
I have been trying out different flowers since, so just waiting for them to be ready!
Thank you 😊
It was the smallest little gap in the inner bag, but it did travel a lot to get here, so I think that was unusual as the packaging is very good.
At the moment I am trying little sunflowers - will be interesting to see how they do! Many thanks 😊
@@FlowerJoos Thank you so much! We have also posted videos introducing flowers and their recommended drying days on our Instagram. It's a series called Wisedry Flower Class. Feel free to check it out if you're interested.😊
Interesting never tried before you would
experiment which flowers better suited
to process - thank you 🙏💗
Yes - and a good way to use up spare flower heads for a later project 😀
At first I thought..mmmm??? But I must say that was very interesting..Thankyou John, you do come up with some very unusual ideas. Koszonem.
Thank you 😊 szivesen
Actually, freeze dried means just that...visited a business many years ago here in Michigan 🇺🇸 that had special freezers and had a great business preserving flowers like bridal bouquets. They were absolutely wonderful when done!
Thank you 😊 that would be really interesting to see
I understood that you can also use glyseran.
Yes, but that is more for standing the stems in I think. I haven’t tried it I’m afraid .
Dried materials are often covered with airtight domes, as humidity can really ruin dried plant material. Also, exposure to highly lit areas can cause colors to fade.
Good tips - thank you! I like the look of material in glass domes - it has a really nice look 👀
They look sooo delicate. Did you try to wire them? I was thinking wiring the leaved would break them???
The alstroemeria is very delicate. I haven’t tried wiring any of them yet as it depends on the project they get used in - but maybe best wired when newly done? I will have to experiment 😀🌼

Hi, How long can you keep dried flowers ? And how often can you reuse the Silica Gel and can you leave the gel in a plastic container after using it? thanks. I am going to try this, so thanks for all the information.
Dried flowers will last well, but it does depend on the conditions - so dry, cool, and not in full sunlight is best. But they won’t last forever - a year or two is good - after that they deteriorate. The gel is reusable again and again - just dry it out in the oven to remove the moisture ( check the instructions ) and yes, store in an airtight container between uses is best
I've never tried this I've always hung the flowers on a air dryer in the dark. What flowers are best for these crystals or does it cover all. Thank you, they look great. I shall try this. Thank you.
I think most flowers are good wit( the exception of spring flowers as the moisture value is just too high. So tulips and daffodils are out, but gerbera and dahlias are possible.

Could I put an articulation stem on them and make a bouquet?
Hello! You could - though dried flowers are very fragile, so as a wedding bouquet they would be too easily damaged, but to make a bouquet in a frame would be nice 😊
Tôi muốn mua cát ướp hoa này có chỗ nào bán không
