This was my first festival age 19 was brill!! good times good music...now pretty sad when u see kids coming out there tents in suits and loads of pop acts kinda ruined it now loved it back then chillin round the camp fire chattin till early hours!!
I went to this when I was 20! Left Glasgow on the tues night n got 3 buses to get there wed afternoon! My only English festival! Fantastic! all the big guns played! Great looking back to this time I had with with a great friend who's no longer here, reading 95 is never far from my head. Thanks for this.
I was 19 came down from Cheshire my first fest remember the Foos in the tent although bit outside, was sat on lots of my bros and people we got friends with sholders at the time although was bit hungover from first night ,didnt get out the tent till 6pm lol....love it, wish i could just go back to that time chillin round the camp fire drinking and talking to strangers till dawn ....Good times :)
Where's Soundgarden and Neil Young and Bjork for that matter? I remember Courtney Love hurt herself pulling the drum kit off the riser! What an unbelievable line up that year. Literally saw all my favourite bands except Weezer. My main reason was Pumpkins of course. I've met Jimmy since and he turns out to be really down to earth and cool. My brain exploded when I found out that Billy Corgan is now dedicated to pro wrestling. Perhaps your head just exploded Scanners style, if this is the first you've heard about that!
Was an freakin awesome year. Anyone remember the guy that wanted to jump off the pylon supporting the tent at the Foos gig? For some reason the organisers through the Foo's were some unknown band and shoved them on the second stage whilst some shitty act was on mainstage. Dave G stopped the show cos people were getting hurt.
I had to suffer through f**king Echobelly to see them. Tripping my t*ts off, grabbing hold of a pole to stop myself being trampled, not knowing which hands were mine. It all got too intense so I f*cked off outside and watched Bjork instead.
I always assumed it was just one of those things that was just going around since they were all mates in Bristol. Tho I wouldn't put it past Tricky that he knicked it off of Geoff Barrow the cheeky little Get.

My first festival. What a lineup. Great to get to see some footage after all these years.
I just posted that on the first page best line up ever skunk anasie where the first act on the Friday cant say much more then that
Michael Keating, mine too mate, Smashing Pumpkins were the standout act for me, Green Day and Babes In Toyland were fuckin good too.
My first festival too, travelled from north wales with some mates, camped in a cramped tent, near overflowing portaloos, glorious days
@@richardkent2014 Skunk Anansie played on the Saturday 👍
Me too! Smashing Pumpkins, Teenage Fanclub, Hole, awesome. Those portaloos, ayeeee!
Smashing Punmkins was beyond awesome
I remember crowd surfing to Foo fighters into the pit then some random girl kissing me when I went back in.
Haha all of that seems an even crazier thought at a time like this...
@@jamesdevine02 I am surprised any of us made it to 2000.
A shame there wasn't more Foo footage - that was a great gig!
yeah what happened there eh?!
I was there. I was surfing the crowd during Beck and lost one of my credit cards and almost lost my glasses.
You are a legend! I've been wanting to find footage of the Pumpkins performance for years and I've finally seen it! Thank you very much :)

Cool! Foos would of been awesome to see in that tent they over packed!
I was right at the front in the middle during the Smashing Pumpkins set

There were quite a few people on the pylons (I was one of them). Never been so crushed at a gig.
I had to suffer through f**king Echobelly to see them. Tripping my t*ts off, grabbing hold of a pole to stop myself being trampled, not knowing which hands were mine. It all got too intense so I f*cked off outside and watched Bjork instead.
Wireline just to remind anyone. Bjork was the main stage headliner during the foos.
I was there!!! beck on a friday! greenday then hole courtney reading out kurts suicide note then nofx!!
fuck and then smashing pumpkins!!
Wow BECK?! I thought that band doesn't exist? It was a band in a Japanese movie BECK
No blind melon footage ?
was there. fuckin awsome
This was the first time the foo fighters played uk
I was there !
Alison Harte me too
Yep Dave always lost sense of direction especially being around billy Corgan the guitar god
what about HOLE
Who is Beck's bassist? I recognise her. Is it Mary Timony?
Wattershed.. It says right before they play it...
That Tricky keyboard riff is 100 % copied from Portishead's glory box or the other way round; Portishead copied from Tricky. No idea.
neither, it is based on a sample by Isaac Hayes, both did it almost at the same time
I always assumed it was just one of those things that was just going around since they were all mates in Bristol. Tho I wouldn't put it past Tricky that he knicked it off of Geoff Barrow the cheeky little Get.
what's the foo fighters song?
At 2.19 is that sherlock on the drums? :P
in fact I can't remember anything I liked about this.
I saw the foo fighters here, it was the first time I crows surfed. I only did it to get away friom them.. Utter shit,
Beck fail :P
3:17. The sound of the angels disrupted by the voice of the devil (or just a really bad singer).
Reading 95 all of it was shit and talentless. Same as the year after. The best thing about it was shouting Ricky!!!! or Biancaaaa!!! in the tents
