I said this around 3 years ago. Letrell either becomes the games biggest grub, or he and others start to discipline him to shape him into a legend. Unfortunately in this case, we got the worst case scenario and the wasted potential of a wannabe crybaby.
When I look at Latrell Mitchell. I see a lot of similarities to Mark Geyer. Not impersonality or physical looks, but career wise. Now there are different reasons for why they have very similar careers, but still.

Used to like latrell and defend him. But as time goes on I get so sick of seeing the grubby behaviour and lack of accountability. I've run out of excuses to defend him.

Agreed mate, I'll state early I'm not a Souths fan but when you look at Cam Murray who works his backside off every week for that club, Latrell puts in minimum effort, does one good pass and the media lose it and say that's a pass only Latrell can do, it's BS. He's a grub and a bully, and one day he will do something quite bad to another player that will end their career. He should have got more than 3 weeks, he could have easily broken SJ's jaw if that went bad.

This is one of the rare times I agree with Buzz, it’s been downhill since Bennett and Reynolds left, even in 2022 it felt like south’s had a fair bit of luck on their side. The players apparently arguing on the field on the weekend proves that they don’t have direction, it’s going to be a long time before we have someone control the game for us like Reynolds did.
The board needs to look at themselves and their recruitment practices just as much as the players and coach need to lift. The board are the ones who’ve let go of talented players like Taffe and Reynolds, local juniors who only ever wanted to be in a south’s jersey.

@@malsmith2012 craziness, Bennett was preparing him to take the reins when Reynolds left, then JD wouldn’t even give him a spot on the bench, now the dogs are reaping the rewards of putting faith in him, like the broncos are with Reynolds. Then after the club has supported latrell, sent him to the US for the best medical treatment possible, and extended his lucrative contract, we either see a lacklustre performance or him getting suspended for silly offences. Shift him back to centre where south’s will get a return on their investment.

@@MusMasi he could play inside centre (12). He was a champion rugby player before he got recruited to league. He's not big enough to play as a forward in union but would fit the 12 position. Eddie Jones told Gus he would be his first pick if he could take a league player.

Everyone is dancing around the obvious. Mitchell doesn't want to be there, he is about as fit as I am with that jelly belly. Walker is slowed down by 10 metres the most underplaying forwards in the comp and the amount of blatant indiscretions by Mitchell are disgraceful. Let him go, his days of playing first grade are over and anyone that puts him at the same level as the great Greg Inglis are delusional. Maybe that's what he needs, get GI to have a heart to heart with him during his suspension but that would be his absolute last chance.
South's would've been better with Benji coaching. Benjis first day at South's as a player he told Cook he's not as good as he thinks he is and that his passes were rubbish. 3 games later it came true. We need a coach who can be direct and honest with players and not tip toe around the issues. Josh Mansour speaking out on his experience with JD is a perfect insight into JD as a coach. He may be a good bloke but he's not a good coach

I feel for our Captain Cam Murray. He has to sit there with his coach after a game and you can see on his face he does not agree with the excuses. But he's not going to speak up and rubbish LM or anyone to the media. One incident which was heard loud and clear near the sidelines was LM shouting at his Captain..."When I'm hear, you F* pass me the ball" to which Murray said..."I would but you're never there" big applause from the crowd. Ask Cook how many times does LM jump in and elbow him out of the way to pick up the ball only to surrender it or not pass it to the player who is ready for it. It happened 2 or 3 time last week. Check the footage.

I used to love Latrell and defend him. Now I look at him as a warning to society. This is what happens when no one has to take any accountability, time proven structures and boundaries are ignored, you operate on feelings not facts and people’s delusions and fantasies are accepted and encouraged.
Latrell is the most talented footballer I’ve seen. Unfortunately he hasn’t been NRL standard for a few years now and he’s degenerated to the point where his first instinct is to hurt someone. To be fair this instinct may have always been, as it certainly looks like it’s his true colours, but the worst thing he ever did was leave the Roosters where Robbo was holding him accountable.
